Uncaged Ergonomics WorkEZ Adjustable Keyboard Stand, Riser and Tray, Black

I love adjustable standing desk toppers at my workplace, but find the whole setup to be very bulky and visually cluttered. I love this keyboard stand, since it adjusts the main thing I need adjusted for standing, my keyboard, while being something I can completely put away while not in use if sitting. Having three different points of adjustment per side really allows for all kinds of optimizing, and I really appreciate it, especially as I tend to fluctuate between tall and taller for keyboard height all the time. I also love that the attachable mouse pad can be used on either side, as I use the stand with the lip part in the back - it cuts into my wrists while typing otherwise. I will say that the stand does get kind of wobbly when it's on a tall setting, but it doesn't feel like it's going to break or collapse. The instructions are simple but very clear. I did initially struggle with adjusting the joints, but that's because I was mistakenly pressing down the button to adjust but trying to move the platform, instead of adjusting the joint itself. For the price, I think this is a really versatile, handy desk accessory that makes my work set up a lot better.

I like the stand and it serves the purpose. Having weights in the feet would help keep it from wanting to slide around ad fall forward easily.

***UPDATE*** Overall, I’m still satisfied with the product, however, when angling the device forward or backwards, there isn’t anything in place to keep the mouse from sliding off the mouse tray. ———————————————————— Delivery and Packaging: The product arrived one day earlier than expected, which was awesome. The product came in the original box and un-taped, which I didn’t like because outsiders knew what was inside (not safe when my product is being left outside) and the edges were not secured with tape, the product could have slipped out the box. Overall appearance: The product has a sleek, compact and professional look. Sturdiness: The product is light. I’m using it for my keyboard and it is sturdy enough to hold my keyboard and mouse and the extra weight of my typing / wrist/ arm weight is supported well. Stability: As I mentioned before the product is light, I thought this would pose a problem (light = cheap= flimsy) however, I was pleasantly surprised. I have the product placed on my desk, which has a slick finish to it and I experienced no sliding with this product, however, I still may purchase a desktop mat to protect the finish on my desk. The mouse tray is stable enough to me, no shaking when using. For those who have issues with the mouse tray, make sure the screw is tight. Ease of Use: Adjusting the legs can be challenging when trying to obtain the right height but it is very easy to adjust and the dials are helpful to let you know which notch you are in. Overall I like the product, no complaints other than the packaging itself. Good price and performs exactly as advertised. I would recommend this product to others.

Oh, you can adjust it to your preferred height, all right - after pressing the button on each individual joint and clicking through the preset stopping points. What is that, like 8 separate joints to adjust one at a time?You can't press the buttons on both sides at the same time, it's too difficult. You need one hand to press the button and one hand to move the joint So each individual joint, one at a time, while your keyboard starts to slide off. It's not practical at all to go from standing to sitting to standing again, unless you set it where you want it for standing, then remove your keyboard and mouse and set it aside for sitting. It's just slightly ridiculous for the price, and totally not worth it IMO. My office actually bought me a rising monitor and keyboard stand that allows me to adjust it to any height I want with the press of a lever, and it blows this one out of the water. If you want to go from standing to sitting to standing throughout your day, don't waste you money on this one - spend the extra money for a REAL adjustable stand instead. You will be glad you did!

I'm pretty happy with this. It does what it was designed to do. Adjustment is kind of a nuisance as others have mentioned. If you want something that you can adjust easily and repeatedly throughout the day, this probably isn't it. Each of three sections of leg (six total) need to be adjusted individually. Hard to do? No, but a bit wonky. The mouse platform works fine, it's a little bit too flexible for my liking. Had I designed it, I would have kept all the sheet metal they removed to make the attachment tab for the tightening knob and added a rib to it- it's functional though and isn't going to break. What I DON'T like about the mouse platform is that it doesn't have a lip on either end to keep the mouse from sliding off when it is tilted. I assume this is because the platform is ambidextrous, but at least provide a bit of slip on edging or something of the sort (that's how I solved it) to be used as a stop. My only other minor complaint, the legs are slippery and it slid around my desktop. I added four stick on bumpers (these could also be included) and they helped greatly. Overall, it works and I'm not sorry I purchased it!

I get so sick of flimsy break-in-a-week computer junkola. So it's really refreshing to have at hand a portable laptop stand that Lothar the Free basing Viking could use to kill a dragon. Not only is it sturdy but unlike so many other similar critters, this sits level. The only thing about it is that over 41 years of cost estimating I have put in miles of high-pressure steam lines, 20 complete gas turbine peakers and mobile gennies, and around 60 boilers using various types of fuel....and I could not sort out how to assemble the mousepad platform extension. NOTE TO SELF: it goes in upside down from the top vertically then pivots down sideways. It's worth every penny. I got this one to complement my new laptop. I have one like this for my other electronic Etch-A-Sketch that's black made by the same people which I have had for maybe 12 years. Take it from me, the silver one is da bomb.

UPDATE: I decided to keep this thing. But I'm still annoyed with the product and the company. They claim to be about ergonomics (it's in their company name), but I don't think these W Virginia boys got anything on their minds other than grabbing for some cash. C'mon boys - WVA deserves better (and so do your customers). Here are the problems that still exist with this so-called "ergonomic" product: 1) if you plan to use the separate mousepad, it's impossible to get it into the stand (you can see the trouble I had below), unless you know the secret: you have to make sure to place the mousepad connector into the frame properly BEFORE you set the stand up. If you set the stand up first, the leg underneath will probably butt up against the platform (for greater stability), but this is what blocks you from then inserting the mousepad connector. Instead, make sure there is room between the leg and the platform before you insert the mousepad connector. After connector is installed, then set up the stand. This wasn't mentioned in the instructions. In fact, the instructions imply that you should set the stand up first before inserting the mousepad. (But this would only work if you also made sure there was room between the leg and platform or set up the mousepad first.) 2) The instructions (or their product description above) don't give the dimensions for the unit as it sits on the desktop, i.e., how much desktop space does it actually need to stand up? I really needed this info and sure enough it's too big but it has enough space on the desktop to be stable. I would not own if this product if there was another on the market that was competitive. I encourage you to look elsewhere and then if this is the only product that might work best for you, score it then to reduce your own likelihood of annoyance. _________ ORIGINAL: This product is not a bad idea. It's just poorly executed. It's very light and not so stable but if you're only touching it to type it's OK. The absolute showstopper though is that the mouse pad does not affix properly to the stand no matter what you do. What I received is so poorly engineered that I think there is a chance that the metal attachment sent for the mouse pad is the wrong part. The poor design of the unit with respect to the mouse pad renders the product unusable. Also, the product is trying to do too much. It has enough room on top for a laptop. That's not what I wanted. I just want it wide enough to hold a keyboard and it barely fits on my limited desktop area - part of it hangs off the edge because it has way more depth than needed for a keyboard tray. I must say that it is annoying to buy an ergonomic product only to find out that it is not ergonomic at all and can't even be used. Uncaged Ergonomics? I don't think so. Great for my purpose, may not be for everyone. I have a sim rig and only needed something to set next to me for my keyboard and mouse. It took a moment to get the adjustment right as it has numerous possibilities for a well placed configuration. On a lower setting/adjustment it seems quite stable but when I set it up for a higher position it felt a bit wobbly. However, at the current medium adjustment it is both stable and suits my situation well. The mouse portion is just clipped on loosely and is rather small. So, if you are using it a lot or moving quickly you may run off the edge or drop the mouse off altogether. Again, this review is for how the stand works for my setup and it is great but this may not be a great fit for all. It has three adjustable legs on each side that are push button activated and locked out when set to desired position. No tools needed and the adjustment positions are indicated with numbered incremental positions so you can easily tell you have both sides set equally. One other feature I found by accident, you can set this stand up on uneven surfaces (in either direction) and still have a flat workstation for your keyboard or laptop. Hopefully this helps you with your decision to purchase or not to purchase. This review has been left without compensation, I actually like it for MY purpose and use.

The device is solidly built. Sturdy adjustment push buttoms per side and easily adjustable to suit whatever position you wish to use it in. Fits onto the desk easily and is light enough yet strong enough to support the full size keyboard and the Mouse pad with me leaning it on it. Only downside is I found the surface of the mouse area a little to non tactile so mounted a cut down mouse pad on it, problem solved. It will work fine without having to add a pad, but I just prefer the feel of it with it. Ideal system if like me you cannot change out your whole desk but want the option to be able to stand as and when required or needed. Being diabetic this gives me all options. SO I can stand to get the circulation going and sit whilst doing any heavy reading etc. All in all a nice compact but very sturdy device, and everyone else who has seen it has commented that it is a good looking piece of kit.

Having read the other reviews, I was a bit sceptical. But it is a well made item and does exactly what I wanted. Can be a bit fiddly to set up, but once done, it is fine. Lots of settings to choose from. Watch your nails when pressing in the buttons! My only other comment would be that it is a bit slippy on the desk, so will be buying a rubber mat to put it on.
