Great boots!
I wanted a leather boot with a rubber sole, yet stylish. They are very comfortable! The reviewers were very helpful in recommending a half size larger.

Waterproof and comfortable
I purchased these boots about a year ago. These boots are very comfortable but I would say that they run a little narrow, especially in the forefoot. The leather is very nice and I can attest to the waterproof factor of these shoes. The second time I ever wore them I ended up walking around a town I was unfamiliar with and it started to rain. These shoes kept my feet dry and I had no issues with water leaking in anywhere, even through the zipper area. The shoes were also very comfortable for walking around a few miles the first go around and I had no blisters or any other discomfort. The arch seems pretty decent in these as well although I am not sure how likely you would be to wear them all day while doing anything other than recreational walking. I would not recommend these boots for hiking but a short day trip to an orchard or other outings around the town should prove the boots to be quite comfortable. My favorite way of wearing these boots is to pair them with skinny jeans that I can tuck into the shoe. I would say that the shoes are not going to accommodate those with large calves well. My calves are about average and I was just barely able to fit my legs and jeans both into the shoes. Larger calves would likely have a problem being able to zip the shoe all the way to the top. Also to be clear the boots do not come all the way up the calf; rather, they stop somewhere between mid calf to just below the calf depending on how tall you are. I am about 5'2" and these boots came up about mid calf on me.

These are the perfect boot!
I bought a pair of Teva Montecito boots in light brown a few years ago. They were out of black. I've been hoping for a pair of black ones ever since. The Teva Capistrano is a sleeker and more sturdy boot than the Montecito, but is very similar. It is waterproof, keeps your feet warmer, and has excellent traction for winter. I can still look stylish in the snow! However, both of my Teva boots are just a tad smaller than others of the same size. Order at least half a size larger. Otherwise, they are the perfect boot!

Stability and comfort
The leather on these boots s very thick, yet supple. This bungee cord color came looking already worn in, as if I'd had them for years, so be prepared. I gave them a trial run all over our "neighborhood", which means our rough cut gravel road and our hilly, grassy, muddy yard. These boots completely wrapped up my feet while seeming to propel me forward, putting a bounce in my step. I felt like I could walk all day and be excited about it. The stability of these shoes was truly unexpected, with none of the proration tendencies of other shoes, I wandered up and down our truly uneven terrain (I live in rural AR) with ease. Strangely, though, as soon as I stand still my heels do hurt, but remember that I have been wearing keens sandals, merril tennis shoes, and skecher boots for a decade now...so my squished toes and achy heel might just be unused to boots. My right foot measures 24 1/2 cm, with an average width in the toes and an extremely extremely narrow heel. My arches are a size nine, meaning very far forward and high for size seven 1/2 feet. So far in these my heels do slip and my right toes are squished, BUT much less and much less irritatingly than in other boots. I am hoping they will wear to my feet or that I can have them stretched just over that right pinkie toe, although I fear there will be no platform to rest it on then. I tried them on with thin dress socks, thick crew socks, and thick wool socks. The shoes fit in every case, which I don't even understand how they do that! Going to try these...hope they really do keep me warm and dry come next snow/ice season. Will update.

Sole separated immediately
After the first wearing I noticed sole of the toe area of the right boot looked like it was pulling apart from the boot. The next time I wore them I could hear noise when I walked and when I got home I see the entire sole is coming unglued from the boot. I really don't like paying this much for something that is unwearable. I have had these too long to return- I'd seen them on someone while I was out of town and ordered them in the Spring and didn't wear them until months later when it was cool enough so the return time was past. Maybe I just got a bad pair but I would not recommend this product.

Not as classic looking boot as shown; very sleek/form fitting/soft sole
Well made, but so form fitting that it isn't super flattering. It looks/feels like a neoprene wetsuit / diver's boot or something like that. Like a 2nd skin, even though these are the right size for me. I like something a little more classic/clunky looking in a boot. I'm not a fan of low heels/flat shoes simply because I like a bit more traction, so I probably just should have returned these. There IS a heel, but the form fit of the boot still makes it feel like you are wearing house slippers or flip flops; just too soft on the sole. They do well in the snow/cold, but don't have great style, so I use them as an outdoor boot only. I kept them because we had snow and I didn't have any better options at the time. Again, they are well made, but do not have a traditional silhouette of a classic boot that the photos appear to show.

These boots run very small and not true to size.
I read the reviews of the Teva Women's Capistrano Boots before ordering them. I have extremely small feet and usually wear a 4.5 - 5, with many size 5 shoes/boots fitting too large. But with boots, I generally wear heavy socks so I can often make a 5 work. Not with these boots! I tried them on as soon as they arrived and I could barely squeeze my foot into them, and let me tell you, it was a struggle. There is absolutely no way in the world that I would be able to wear a winter sock with them; as it was, I had on very thin socks when I tried them on. In addition, the front of the boot was so narrow as to be uncomfortable, and they were also tight around my calves. I have returned the boots and will not try a larger size. But if you are considering purchasing these boots, definitely go for a half or a size larger than you typically wear.
