For the first time in over 20 years, 20 of the Sex Pistol’s recordings from 1976 to 1978 are collected together to tell the story of one of the world’s most influential and extraordinary bands. The tracks here cover the entire initial period of the band’s recording career – from Anarchy in The UK, through Never Mind The Bollocks to the post John Lydon Great Rock ‘n’ Roll Swindle soundtrack featuring early demos, cover versions and more. The compilation is completed by some essential B- sides – I Wanna Be Me (the flipside of Anarchy…), ‘Satellite’ (the b-side of ‘Holidays In The Sun’) and Did You No Wrong (from ‘God Save The Queen’).The 2LP black vinyl edition features a black and white photo of the band with colour logo, packaged in gatefold sleeve.

Obviously great music but novices should start elsewhere
Nine out of the 12 tracks on Never Mind the Bollocks are on this compilation. So I implore anyone new to the Sex Pistols to buy Never Mind the Bollocks. Because these songs were meant to be heard for the first time as part of a complete album, not a compilation like this one.Another eight tracks on this collection are from The Great Rock and Roll Swindle. The other three songs are otherwise hard to find anywhere else on CD, so this collection is worth buying for Sex Pistols completists (at the right price).

great compilation but...
there must be like five songs missing? come on just release a complete album of all studio recordings.whats here is great but we need all of them in one place.

When can we expect Rock n Roll Swindle remastered?
Good selection of tracks, preferred the version of Silly Thing that appears on Kiss This. Would've liked to have seen Friggin in the Riggin on here too, personally...

Not a plastic jewel case.
Bear in mind the cd is packaged in a cheap cardboard cover and not a jewel case as described. Seems really cheap and nasty to be honest. The music is fine as we all already know.

Good collection
A reasonable attempt to repackage the best material. I bought because I wanted the later vicious and Jones/cook singles and substitute, without the rubbish that comprises the great rock and roll swindle. Artwork was lacking with just plain inner liners, notes essays were missing or indeed any attempt at contextualising or reappraising the material.

Yet another rehash
Firstly, I have not purchased this CD as I already have every track a number of times over and it's cheaply packaged in a flimsy cardboard sleeve! For a band who only recorded 18ish songs there are an enormous number of compilations, re-releases etc. The music on this album is great, no doubt about that, I just don't like pointless rehashes. I suppose the next Smiths and Jam compilations will be along shortly!!!
