Worked just fine
Purchased these for a cabinet to light up a model car collection. No problem with the instillation and all worked the first time.

NOT as pictured!!!!!
The image attached to this product appears as though there are little white "clip" ends on the lights, that you merely snap into place with the splitters, as many as you need, and then snap those into the power brick/outlet wire, hang 'em, plug 'em in, and done.NOPE.There were NO clips - it was not as simple as "snapping" anything together. EVERY wire was a "raw-end" wire, with COMPLETELY different looking splitters that you had to manually carve the wires and shove them into tight tunnels onto little metal teeth that HAD to pierce through the insulating black coating enough to contact the copper wire within ----- if you were off the TINIEST bit, it wouldn't light.I spent 30 minutes to an hour rebuilding a computer - then it took me about 3 hours to get these done. Seems as though that should be the other way around. It was SO infuriating. I had to keep retrying the individual lights because one or more wouldn't light. And there are 4 contact places, so you have no way of knowing what's not contacting.I don't know if it was the HOT lights themselves, or if while testing them the raw copper ends of the wiring were live, hot, and exposed enough to touch it, but I managed to melt a quarter sized area on my carpet. There is NO "power brick" looking object --- you get one long double wire (raw at both ends) onto which you have to install the plug, install the twist dial device to turn the lights off and on, and splice into the long wire at any interval you want to install the T shaped splitter which you then install the light w/ a short wire into the "bottom" of the T yourself. This product was insanely frustrating and difficult to get working properly. It was FAR too time consuming -- and NOTHING like the image they have for it. Be warned.Building a computer (which is, essentially, plugging in white or black clips into corresponding holes - which I thought this would be like, based on the image) was so much easier than this. Computer is a 3 scale of difficulty, and this is a 12 - for comparison. Be prepared for your fingertips to ache from shoving the wires into place and poking and prodding and picking the thing apart 16 times when you have to figure out where the contacts aren't being made --- UGH.The light they cast (after finally getting 4 of the 5 lights lit - and giving up there as that was enough) is very yellow. Annoyingly yellow. I hope I can find whiter bulbs that will fit these. If I even keep them up - with all the manual splicing into wires (and I'm not a certified electrician, clearly) I am nervous of a potential fire. Who knows if I made a tiny mistake like leaving a label shard on the wire that will get touched by the copper and melt the plastic T splice object and turn into a fire? Something melted my rug, afterall. The packaging was also humorous. Not amazon's packaging, but westek's. ALL the screws and tiny nails and stuff were loosely thrown into the plastic package with the lights - and there were a good 3 dozen little pieces. There were plenty of gaps through which they could fall out. Several did fall out into the brown shipping box. Normally, small items like screws and tiny nails (which... were meant for... what, exactly???) come in BAGS, people! Common sense! The directions were laughable. Very general and not all that helpful to understand what to do.These are for a true certified electrician to mess with. Not for anyone else but them. Unless you have an insane amount of patience.I do not recommend these.

Lights are too hot
Bought these as accent lights for under my new cabinets. Two of the bulbs were burned out on arrival. After replacing them ($7/ea!), got everything wired. Turned on the power, and they looked great. But I noticed after 30 minutes of being on, the temp on these lights was extremely high. After an hour, one of the lights burned out. I'm pretty sure they're not supposed to do that...

Great for the price
I've read the reviews and, in all honesty, thought some were really grasping at straws. One in particular stated even their electrician couldn't install these properly. That electrician should be fired!I'm a DIY guy and installing these lights was not a challenge when using a little common sense. The only real dislike (and others have commented) is the filaments in these bulbs really are sensitive to impact. So if you plan on mounting them under cabinets where you intend on banging plates around above, expect to see the lights flicker as a result. Had this not been the case, I would have gone with a 5 star rating. I installed my set in my wife's china cabinet with a touch-sensitive switch routed to a door hinge. They work great!

Included mounting screws are worthless, and replacements from the hardware store are hard to find.
Included mounting screws are worthless, and replacements from the hardware store are hard to find. the lights work well, and the electrical is very easy, just plan on buying additional mounting screws if your planning on putting them into anything but balsa wood.

These Lights are Hollywood!
5 star and deserve a star on the Hollywood Accent lighting Walk of Fame! Bright, and luminescent! A red carpet Star! Do you ever wake up in the morning, all excited for toast? Then you find out your butter is too hard from being cold and it makes a mess on your slices. These lights will solve your problem. construct a wood box that will hold your butter stick about three inches below the bottom of your cabinet and place it right under one of these lights. In 5-10 minutes your butter will be soft and spreadable if you remember to turn on the light.

Very poor product
As an expert in electronics, despite the other bad reviews, I was hopeful of being able to use this or make the product work. Unfortunately the product is very poorly designed, nearly impossible to use, and has deficient instructions. Despite the difficulty of finding a product with wiring that can be hidden I am happy to be returning mine and feel good to be rid of it. If used incorrectly it could be quite dangerous and since the instructions are so poor it's amazing that someone hasn't gotten injured. I would strongly suggest that you (like me) continue looking for an easier to manage low voltage halogen/LCD set if any still exist. Good luck.
