Faces of Death VHS

Best movie EVER!!! Don't care if it's 90% fake or whatever still makes it one of the best gore movies ever made!!! Up there with Cannibal Holocaust and the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre! Sickening atmosphere and all its the best!

Well first off note that this mondo style film never bored me. It had just enough action packed into the 105 minutes to keep me watching. If you took away the death scenes and just listened to the commentary, you would take alot out of exactly what the movie was trying to get across. Most people judge this film too harshly. I will warn you, if you are weak at heart do NOT WATCH THIS FILM, but anybody else who has a free night and wants to watch special effects at there near greatest, check this movie out. Although not 100% real, this is still worth watching. I think that a group of film students wanted to make a scary movie and didnt want to include a plot so they made this. All over, 3 out of 5.

'Faces of Death' is a half decent film showing the gruesome deaths of numerous people. The movie is almost ruined by the awful narration, which is even worse than a bad horror flick. Nonetheless, it is worth the watch if you are curious about seeing people killed.

With the exception of the scenes with animals, most of the deaths scenes in this movie are fake. For example, the scenes of prisoner executions are fake because public executions are not permitted in the United States. They don't allow families of the victims to withness the executions, let alone somebody making a documentary. And if they were going to allow documentary film makers to film an execution they would want some organization with reputation and reputability like Time/Life or Discovery...not "Gorgon Video." And what about that assasination scene? I didn't mind the laughable set, but what got me was the fact that we witnessed "authentic" French politicians who spoke lousy text book french with american accents.Still, for a horror movie, Faces of Death is actually quite imaginative and even thought provoking some times. And in spite of the low budget, Faces of Death had some well done directing and a descent script. Go see this movie, if only to say that you saw it.

Im only 16 and I saw this movie. I found out about it from a cousin. This movie I expected to be a ton more hardcore than it was. There was nothing in this movies I had to close my eyes for. To tell you the truth this movie is like a Disney movie. If you want to see REAL HARDCORE action dont look at Faces of Death 1, the others are more intense and sicker. If you want to laugh rent or buy this one. Faces of Death 1 is a beginner FOD movie!

Okay, if you are looking for a silly narrator, cheap effects, and a boring video. This is for you. The rest of the reviews on how scary and gruesome it is, is just for money. Believe me! Don't waste your money on this, maybe a rent, but I do not even recomend that! The only scene was the eating of the heart, but that was even silly. This should be called kill the animals, and surgery film. Don't be fooled, the cover and reviews sound better but it's not. (Death is not close up.)WARNING: GRAB A PILLOW AND LAY DOWN!

Well, "fake"/"staged" or not, I found Faces Of Death (the original and its sequels) entertaining. In fact, I found it a decent, if not a great, "stress reducer!" If I'm "having a bad day," instead of "lashing out" or "blowing up" (at someone,) other than playing/listening to hard rock/metal music or watching horror films ("old school" horror for me, please!), I'll watch Faces Of Death.

If you're into really gross movies, this one is for you. This movie is extremely graphic and bloody. It's supposed to be real accounts of peoople in different situations getting murdered and it shows everything close up. I hope you don't have a queasy stomach.
