We had Bought a pepper mill 3 years ago and it quit working. Took it apart and found out why the grinding gears were plastic! What a piece of ××××. This is a good one.

It was much smaller than I imagined, make sure to read the dimensions closely. We gave it a try, but it never worked quite right. Not really adjustable as the grinding mechanism is plastic and such poor quality that you can only sort of get one grind, and the handle quickly bent out of shape. Could never rotate the handle smoothly, had to sort of jerk it about to get any pepper to grind. It is difficult to fill with peppercorns as the tiny compartment is mostly filled with the spring component connecting the top and base. It more or less stopped working even that well after a few months despite our best efforts to make it work. Should have just returned it.

After years of using a "nice" pepper mill that barely spit out a sprinkle of black specks, finally decided to bite the bullet and get myself a this pepper mill. Now the pepper game is on. This little mill looks adorable on my stovetop, is easy to clean, and is easy and fun to use.

I like that there is no plastic. Gross how companies let us grind up our peppercorns with plastic.So was excited for this to arrive.However I never really got much pepper out if it, and now not at all except for the occasional "one turn" and grind.Also the sticker/barcode was right across the bottom where the grinder is, leaving stickyness on it. Had to spend a while washing it off. Should have just returned it before it became "used".

Grind is either too fine or not at all. I have the OG Perfex made in France as well so maybe I’m comparing this unfairly. They gave me my money back but let me keep the grinder which probably is saying something…

Other pepper mills were difficult, requiring too much effort, and the coarseness was always changing. Refilling required adjusting the setting the coarseness all over again, which was a pain. With the Norpro easy side loading feature and the handle, the adjustment remains and the mill functions smoothly. It was also less expensive than those that just weren't up to the job.

Many manufacturers use plastic grinder parts which can flake into your food over time. For this reason I was looking for a metal grinder. I like that this is metal interior and exterior parts. It’s small and doesn’t take up much room in the kitchen, spice cabinets, or table.The only dislike is that the crank handle is a little weak and because it’s small it’s a little tricky to turn. Other than that it works great and I bought one to use for black pepper and one to use with red chili’s to make crushed red pepper.

I bought this for the price and especially for the intriguing ability to reload peppercorns without unscrewing the top.The pepper mill doesn’t ‘grab’ peppercorns no matter the fill level. Shake it to try to get a few to drop into the grinder gear - might work but usually not. Turn the grinder handle up top, usually nothing. Adjust the screw, still nothing. Embarrassing for the table and useless in the kitchen.Threw this into the rubbish bin.
