Does it have coating?

The bowl part is smooth and does not appear to have a varnish type coating. I clean and dry it immediately after using. However I mostly use my acrylic cutting board as it is larger. The handle of the knife is finished the same way and it is extremely sharp. I really like it.

This is made by the Alaskan company owned by an Alaskan native person. The workers there are all kinds of people to answer. The question is made in Alaska.

Not very deep I chop half an onion just fine, then scrape it out and then chop the next thing.

This set is made in Anchorage, Alaska. It is also possible to buy the wood bowl as a stand alone product if you already have the ulu knife. Hope this helps!
