Corners like a dream!
I had this tire on my old bike for over a year and it still isn't close to wearing out. Something about Continental tires, they just seem to last longer. This is a great tire to sport in the front, because it can hold a tight corner without washing out. I've thrown virtually every condition at it and the vertical pro just keeps on rolling. The only condition it doesn't do to great in is thick mud. It can gum up a little if the mud isn't watery enough, but most tires will do that anyway. It excels in loose conditions, primarily forest loam, singletrack, sand, snow, loose dirt, gravel roads, whatever. Its a great choice for a front tire as it comes in the 2.3 version, which is great. I wouldn't pay more than $25-30 for this tire, as I have seen it go for more than that. The conty vertical pro is a house hold favorite that won't let ya down. Good price, great tire, and I have a lot of confidence riding with it.

GREAT TIRE GREAT PRICE
I ride extreme mountain trails, including the National trail at South Mountain AZ, Santan Mountains AZ, and even McDowell Trails in Fountain Hills AZ, and this tire has no problems in ANY of those terrains. I didnt want to spend a ton of money putting tires on my full suspension mtb. I trusted the "continetal" name, and im glad i went with this tire. Compared to its competition... this tire will dominate, but for only a fraction of the price. I wanted even wider tires, but a 2.3 is a nice sized tire. Only complaint i have is that the treads arent exactly very close together, which means they can get ripped off the tire more easily, however i have not experienced this.

Squishy and heavy..
After reading the glowing reviews on these I figured, how can I go wrong? Everybody loves these!Well, so far I don't.They do feel well planted when I'm actually on dirt, which is half of why I bought them (my morning/afternoon commute includes 2 miles each way of canal bank) but the other half was for a wide knobbed tire I can climb curbs with since the rest of my commute is sidewalks* and surface streets. Surprisingly these tires don't climb curbs particularly well, they slide along the edge of the curb just as bad as a road tire.On pavement I find them very predictable, if squishy. I do always feel like they offer good feedback on how much traction is available; the transition from "lots!" to "none!" is broad enough to react to with confidence. They are squishy though, so they don't feel immediately responsive - they never feel *fully* hooked up to the road on hard surfaces. They're much heavier than I expected. I'm shocked at how much harder I have to work pedaling these things vs. the worn out Continental Traffic they replaced.*Motor traffic moves fast in Phoenix and there aren't many bike lanes - *and* nobody actually walks here so the sidewalk truly is the safest place to cycle (on the side opposite the direction of motor traffic, so you can see vehicles turning right - they WON'T see you & will turn right into you).

Good tire, it is a 2.3
The knob pattern and material used in this tire gives it an impressive grip. This is the best tire I've found so far at this price. Several other reviews had stated this tire is much narrower than 2.3. When I got the tire and aired it up, I pulled out my digital caliper and to check what the actual width was. When measured from outer knob to out knob, the measurement was exactly 2.3". When measured form tire side wall to side wall, the tire is only 2.04". Maybe some people were expected the side sidewalls to be 2.3" width but then the knobs pointed outward would make the tire considerably wider and it wouldn't fit on a bike with 2.3" of clearance.

good mixed use tire
I'm street / off road 50-50. This tire isn't bad on the street. it did take 50-60 miles of riding to smooth the tire out a bit but the fine vibration is mostly gone now. Still noisy on the road.pretty grippy on RR ballast and finer gravel. digs in nicely.the extra float from going from a 2.1 to 2.3 wide tire is also good and I've been thru some spots that the old tires would of stalled me out on or just plain sunk enough there was no go. the extra width for me @ #200 makes a big difference in go vs no go. just barely clears my frame but thats ok.first time in the mud the tire clogged up. however the mud was clay and it also stuck all over the bike like glue. even after getting on the street for the ride back home the tire didn't really clear itself that well and I had to hose it off. then again this mud was REALLY sticky so I don't fault the tire too much here. we'll see how it does in less sticky mud. they otherwise seemed ok on more solid trail conditions.

Great front tire extremely grippy and long lasting
Great front tire extremely grippy and long lasting, i regularly ride rock gardens where cheaper tires have their knobs shredded off but these have held up all season.Probably not preferable as a rear tire as it has a good amount of rolling resistance. I've tried many much more expensive $60+ tires including hans dampf and trail king with black chili compound and the difference is minimal, if your front wheel washes out with these installed paying 2-3x the price for better tires won't help you

Superb tire!
These tires roll great and can handle abuse! I’m glad I bought a pair of them! Definitely worth the money, I highly recommend. It was between these or the mountain trails and for the loose dirt/rock these are perfect!

You might as well go to Walmart...
Completley disappointed with this tire. I guess I should have not tried to save myself some money. I would recommend spending another 20 bucks to get a way better tire. the lugs are small, really spaced out, and just super soft rubber. I think I will get about 50 miles out of it before I will have to buy something else.
