Has anyone read the 1star reviews that states it looks nothing like what's shown but the pics they posted look exactly like what's posted so is it?

Mine looks like what is shown !! and I like it too.

I would say about 6 inches tall with the lid on . The circumference is about that of a very large coffee mug. It held 3 small dollar bags of Werther's candies... It is such a nice piece. I am glad I purchased it.

Is it enough space for cookies of medium size?

Not really. Maybe a few small cookies. More candies size.

I need opening to be at least 4 inches. What is the diameter of the actual opening?

The very top is 4 inches, but the inside opening is 3 1/2 inches.
