I think it may be better than season one but I hate that it’s only 12 episodes. It ended on a pretty big cliff hanger and unfortunately I won’t be able to watch season 3 until they release the complete season 3 which probably won’t be until early 2020. This is one of my favorite anime series I’ve seen so far. UPDATE: After season 2 I was convinced that AOT was good, but overrated and not deserving of the hype it was receiving, but I have now conceded and will say it is deserving. It's amped up and the things that get revealed have made going back and seeing season 1 and 2 way better than they originally were.
