Great Webcam!
My girlfriend and I live in two separate cities and don't get to see each other often except on webcam chats, it was this that led me to hunt for a better webcam . I eventually came across this one, to my delight it had all the specifications I wanted. 2 MP, auto focus, and a built in microphone. The video on this camera is much better than my old 1.3 MP webcam, and the auto focus comes in real handy when ever I am trying to show someone something in a book or any small item. the microphone is great too, I can be across my room and the person I am talking to can still hear me clearly (my room is about 14ft across). And the fact that this webcam shoots in HD makes the video more crisp and clear, which is what I wanted. Overall this webcam is worth the price you pay and I totally recommend this it to anyone.

Not a bad camera, but not worth the money...
The Logitech c905 Logitech 2 MP HD Webcam C905 for Notebooks with Built-in Microphone is not a bad camera, but I just didn't think it was worth the money. The Pros:- Very easy to operate- Came with easy to use software- had a $15 rebate on it at the time I purchased- travel caseThe Cons:- Many functions are void once you use the camera in HD mode- HD mode can actually decrease performance if your computer is not powered enough to handle it- Poor Performance in low light- When in HD, can not use Fun Extras- Grainy video when using Widescreen settings- RightLight technology doesn't always give you the best picture- the Stand that comes with this camera is pretty useless since it is lightweight and easily falls over- The USB cord is maybe 3 feet - trust me, it's too short especially if you want to use the lightweight stand.Note: If you are using this with a desktop and your processor is on the floor, you will need a longer USB cord.Again, I don't want to give the wrong impression, this is NOT a bad camera but for the money I think you can find better cameras out there that can perform just as well if not better, especially in low light. If you can get it with the rebate, I suppose it's not a bad deal. Also found the HD picture was not any better than non-HD mode and sometimes actually looked worse. Get yourself a real good non-HD webcam and I think you'll be satisfied if you are just using this primarily for video chatting. Hope this was helpful to someone.

Very best webcam for notebook
I own both this C905 webcam and the desktop version of Webcam Pro 9000.The C905 is easy to install and plug-and-play (USB Video Class). I noticed that Windows 7 will download a Logitech driver which lets me zoom in, auto-focus, face tracking. Where as in Vista (pre SP1), it installs as Generic USB webcam. The video quality seems the same. C905 with generic USB webcam driver does not do auto-focus but it will adjust brightness automatically. You can always download and install the Logitech driver. I actually prefer the Generic USB driver as it is simpler. Feature-wise, the C905 appears to be identical to the Webcam Pro 9000.I give it 4 star instead of 5 because of the stand. It makes me think that this webcam will function well as a desktop webcam. Almost. The stand is what is lacking. The stand shown in photo may make you think you can use half height or zero height. Not so, the C905 can only securely attached to the fully assembled stand. Which is too tall for my need. I am sure you can find something else to clip on but it has to be something as there is no way to keep the webcam upright by itself. On the other hand, the desktop Webcam Pro 9000 can actually attach to a laptop display all by itself. But it is not as portable and has a long wire.

Not fully satisfied
My friends recommended this webcam to me saying that the item is really good. However I should have made it a point to check this product on my friend's systems itself before placing the order. With technical architect's job in a leading Silicon valley software development firm, I believe I can do a basic computer maintenance.I have tested this webcam on 4 laptops and 1 desktop that I have with me. On all of these systems the item didn't work. I'm not here to say that it's someone's fault. I'm just sharing my experience with all the readers. Before connecting this webcam, I used to connect a top of line Wireless keyboard (more than $150) for using in my very large living room where I had a 53" TV connected with my powerful computer systems. I never had any problem with that keyboard. After connecting this webcam and installing the software as recommended I found that the keyboard stopped working. The other accessories like USB hub, Magicjack and other paraphernalia stopped working. I remove the webcam software and the webcam and tried connecting my keyboard and other equipment. They never were detected. After a painstaking follow up with the various vendors about these non functional hardwares, the answer was almost unanimous. With the installation of this new item the old drivers got corrupted. Somehow I had to spend 3 full nights to revive my most powerful system back to normalcy.Later on second thought I tried this product on other laptops and desktop also. It's the same result. So I think I either received a defective item or, my systems are not meant to use this product because of the complexity involved in sharing the drivers. So I returned this item as it's of no use for me. I'm planning to use a very low end webcam for use on one of my obsolete laptops for video chatting where I no longer connect any other accessories.Readers: Once again, I'd like to affirm that you may/may not face this problem. Also don't let my experience bias your judgement. Just keep your eyes open and don't panic if this happens with your systems. If you are using a much simpler laptop I hope there won't be any problems but you are to experience and judge yourself.Good luck.
