A lot of extras for the price
I looked around a lot and was set on another sight, then I looked at this one and saw what it had for a little more money. Packaging is nice and all of the tools, batteries, and bits are included. Even an extra battery tray. Had no problems installing the tray or battery, yes the picture is misleading but the written instructions are correct. For me the included quick release was important. It’s installed on a marlin336 so if I need to go to iron sights I can strip it right off. The quick release has a lock feature so it won’t just open. For those who are not putting this on an AR, yes you can remove the riser to make it sits an inch lower. For a 336 it’s more of a chin weld than a cheek weld but it works. Works as a plus for fast and close. The circle/dot I like more than just a dot, at close and long ranges, bottom of circle gives me an overhold reference. Easy to adjust, very solid. Shake awake is cool and so is the solar back-up.Scope covers are tight. Can take or leave the anti reflective honeycomb insert, but it’s removable so, so what.People have said that the dot isn’t round, and others have said it is their eye causing the problem. I say the latter is true. My left eye sees the dot as a bit of a crescent (my shooting eye of course). My right eye sees it a perfect dot. Wife sees it as a dot.Time will tell if it holds up.Primary usage is my go to rifle, close to medium ranges, low light self defense, deer hunting.

ITS OK
My First thoughts for 270 bucks I expected more. Mounting hardwear feels cheap. Does not give you a snug fit or feeling. Screw never gets tight and I dont want to keep going because the screw is so small I'm scared it will strip. With that said sight does not move or wiggle so we shall see how it holds up over time. Battery compartment feels cheap (plastic) with two tiny screws (like you would have on a pair of glasses) with the same issue as the mounting hardware. Does not give a warm and fuzzy about how tight it is. Also if it's not tight enough water will get in and destroy the sight so that is a serious issue. Second issue with the battery is you need a tool to remove it so in a survival situation you would not be able to replace it but it does last 5 ish years so it has that going for it. Love the idea of the electronics on this the sight. Auto awake is super sick. Reticle is super crisp and clear even on the brightness setting. The auto dim is mildly annoying. For example it is able to sense the brightness and auto adjusts the dot. So when you say clear ur house when you walk under a light it gets super bright then when you pass it goes back to a dimmer dot. Kool concept but in reality it just causes the dot to change brightness all the time and it's kinda annoying. Have not shot with it so cant say much about the Zero or longevity. This is my first impression time will tell more. I will try to keep updating this post to give you and informed review. Hope this helps. I understand this is not a 600 buck sight just giving my opinion

I love this thing, the price is amazing for the quality and features.
I put it on my 12gauge KSG. I originally bought the non solar one (still a great sight) but returned it when I learned the benefits to the solar unit from using the HS507C on my pistol. Solar has auto brightness control which is great when you transition from low light to outside. It is definitely a tactical advantage. Also the fact you can use it without a battery with some light is a plus for post apocalyptic scenario lol. The fact it goes to sleep and wakes the moment you grab the riffle is amazing for weapons that sit still for days to save battery. I haven't taken this unit to the range yet but the previous unit handled the recoil of my KSG without breaking a sweat. If you were like me looking for a good sight for a shotgun this is it. Also the reticle circle dot is great if you want a reference for spread and faster targeting.

not sure about auto brightness
The unit feels tough as nails and I can't wait to try it at the range. My biggest beef is the auto brightness. When the solar panel feels daylight it flares the dot and ring up like the sun. When you are in a room, they get dimmer. Up til now, we're good. But when you are in a room, and aim outside, the brightness is set by the light on top of the unit, not the light coming into the view finder. So the dot and ring are too dim to see. Sure you can switch over to manual mode (3 second press) and then increase the brightness (multiple presses), but you have to remember to do that. Not sure how I feel about this...

About right for the price.
My second Holosun product. Satisfied, for what it is and the pricepoint. First Holosun green dot sight had battery, solar, and shake-to-wake/auto-shutoff. Tried this one because it was going on an AK and fit the side scope mount. It was also a little cheaper than the first (newer) model.Miss the shake-to-wake feature, but everything else is solid. When this drops below $200, highly recommend adding to your dot sight options. Until then, maybe a mild recommendation (for $50 more, you can get a superb dot sight, same company).

Clear Red Dot, and the auto-on and auto-intensity are wow! A no brainer! Quality is sweet...😏
In my opinion::This is a nice-ass, red dot optic!I feel fortunate to own it...The quality and detail, and the total look and feel are superb.I watched the review that Nutnfancy posted on YouTube...And I gave it a go.(I have this unit installed on my IWI Tavor. I hope to do my initial test this week or next.)This is my first Holosun product. And I really like the "auto on" and the automatic intensity. Now I want this feature on all my optic'.The price seems a little high, or steep, but it did not take me long to discover, that it is probably competing with units that cost almost twice as much. And it scores high--in my humble opinion. Thanks Mr. Nutnfancy.Thank you Holosun!P.S.The package--arrived within the specified time--was adequate protection for this level of instrumentNathansilver
