Put in work boots
Installed in work bots. A little tricky to install but they are working fine. No issues since installing them.

They are preserving the lining in my new running shoes
They were purchased to prevent rapid wear-through in the heel area of new ASICS & NB shoes. I previously used mole skin and shoe-goo...didn’t care how it looked. These heel hole protectors went in well and are out of sight, protecting the lining. I inserted them the day before the March at the National Mall 9/26/20 & used them the next day. I walked 8 miles in the rain, shoes were soaked. The moisture made the product slip away from the liners and take a firm grip on my socks. My solution: after they dried out, I used shoe-goo to re-attach & they are working fine.

Installation is a mess
Installing these was very difficult. The adhesive pulled off with the backing in several spots; they stick to every surface on the way into the shoe giving you zero “wiggle room” to get the positioning right; peeling it off to reposition makes the adhesive less effective; if it’s not pushed back far enough into the back heal seam, it is impossible to reinsert your shoe lining; and if by some miracle you get to the point to test it out, the material rolls down when you push your foot in and it sticks to your sock. It’s a great concept, but seriously flawed in ease of use. Wasted my money on this.

Tough to apply inside shoe
Good idea. Definitely need it to make the show last. Seems devilishly hard to apply in the constrained heal area of a shoe. It ends up sticking to itself. Pricey too. Not sure if I would buy again.

but I've done it so much that last time they recommended these inserts
5 stars because personally these work for my shoes and my feet. In fact, these inserts will definitely extend the life of your running shoes. I used to send my Asics in to be replaced by warranty, but I've done it so much that last time they recommended these inserts. Might work against their company because with these inserts I will not be buying as many pairs of new shoes. Kind of a pain to put in, but once in, I have found them both comfortable and effective.

50/50
One shoe worked perfectly and the other wore through like it was crap.

Works well. Difficult to install.
The installation was a little sticky to say the least. It took my three tries to get it installed properly. They are somewhat comfortable but I still can tell they are in. This is a better option than replacing a $100 pair of walking shoes.
