Q: can someone tell me why I see this at wallmart for $80 and its $300 on amazon? lol

They're no longer being made so some 3rd party sellers are presumably trying to sell them as collectibles? Or they're just trying to rip people off. For $300+ you can get vastly superior night vision products. This one was pretty cool for $80 but I hope too many people are getting tricked by unscrupulous sellers.Incidentally, this IS basically the same technology that goes into the $300 IR night vision units, but the legitimately more expensive ones have vastly superior optics and more powerful IR projectors.

Q: is this just a toy or it does work well

in 2009, I bought this for $50. This is inflated price for a toy.

Q: What kind of cable is running from the battery pack to the goggles? It looks like an aux cord

It appears to be multiple smaller wires in a rubber casing.
