Will the switch on it still work in extremely cold temperature without becoming inoperable, such as, in the vacuum of empty space?

Attempts to destroy this toy have proven to be futile. Once invited into the home, it will never (EVER) stop singing. While it has been reported by some that sound waves cannot travel through the vacuum of space, I assure you, the obnoxious chipper little songs will continue to penetrate your ear drums. The "loud" setting on the switch my be rendered inoperable in cold temperatures, but the fail-safe "louder" setting will keep chugging along. The flashlight function will have given out long before its first use.

Is it too bright for a one yearold

It is bright yes, but mine (1 and a 2 year old) do not stare at it to long. It's fun to play with on the wall and such. The 2 year old is more interested in using it as a bat.

Grandkids Love It.

My grandkids really love this flashlight. It is lightweight, easy to use, and durable enough that when it’s been dropped over and over by a 2 year old, it still works. lol It’s bright but not blinding to hurt kid’s eyes and the sounds are not crazy. They love to turn the lights off and run around with it. Tons of fun and very well made! They’ve been playing with this for several months with zero problems!

So much fun!

This was a gift for my granddaughter who is just shy of 2 and she was in LOVE with it. Nice size for a toddlers hands, easy to use buttons, and spin the top for different sounds and colours. My husband was teaching her how to use it under her blanket like a tent but the best part was her running to her room and closing the blinds and she knew to shine it on the floor and ceiling and jumping all around. This flashlight was SO worth every penny just to watch her with it and having fun!!!
