OXO Good Grips Garlic Press

I’ve had a few different garlic crushing devices over the years and they’ve always seemed to be a bit too much like hard work. They either require all of the peel to be removed from the garlic cloves or need a lot of force to crush the garlic effectively. This OXO Good Grips garlic press is the best garlic crushing tool that I’ve used. It isn’t the cheapest but the slightly higher price is worth it for its ability to get the most out of each garlic clove. It isn’t necessary to remove all of the skin from garlic cloves and it’s possible to fit two smaller cloves into the press. As with other products in this range, the grips are chunky and rubber and accordingly easy to grip in larger hands. These grips give a good crushing action and the product seems quite robust. The press is easy to keep clean by washing in soapy water or can be put in the dishwasher. I have yet to find a garlic crusher that works better than this and consider it well worth the asking price. Thoroughly recommended.

Seems to be sturdy enough for the job. Larger grid makes it easier to crush the cloves. Comfortable grips make it easy to use.

This is an OXO product so quality as expected is excellent and feels solid and robust when using. Crushes garlic quickly, efficiently and with easy with little waste ie you get most of the garlic being produced. My only gripe is it’s quite awkward to clean as the ‘basket’ isn’t removable and held in place as part of the hinge. It’s not a dealbreaker as the tool is excellent but a removable basket to make cleaning easier would have been useful.

This is the best garlic press I have ever had. It is durable, easy to use and very easy to clean. It also has a large capacity crushing section so takes even large cloves with ease. I’m very happy with this purchase.

I was on the lookout for a garlic press and know from experience that OXO kitchen aids are soft on the hand and effective. This was no different and much cheaper than m&s were charging (£20)!

I've owned a few garlic presses over the years, but this is easily one of the best. As you'd expect from OXO, the design is well thought out and feels solid from the moment you pick it up. The stainless steel construction gives it a reassuring weight, while the soft, non-slip handles make it comfortable to use, even when pressing several cloves. It crushes garlic efficiently with very little effort, producing evenly pressed garlic without needing excessive force. I also like that it handles unpeeled cloves surprisingly well, which saves a bit of preparation time when cooking. Cleaning is much easier than with many cheaper garlic presses. The remaining garlic is easy to remove, and a quick rinse (or a trip through the dishwasher) leaves it ready for the next use. Although it's a little more expensive than budget alternatives, the build quality and performance more than justify the price. It feels like a kitchen tool that's built to last rather than something that will need replacing after a few months. Overall, it's an excellent garlic press that makes food preparation quicker, easier and far less fiddly. I'd happily recommend it.

Usually love oxo’s products but this was not a good design. The lose flap made it really difficult to clean and it was in the way. The grips are good but I prefer their original design.

I can't recommend this garlic press enough. As a pensioner with a weak grip things like using a garlic press are difficult and painful. I read a newspaper review which named this as the no.1 and specifically spoke about the ease of use with easy to grip handles. I definitely agree, its the best one I have ever tried. It's very effective and easy to clean. I highly recommend.

It is practical and good but not the best. Garlic is coming from the side. After using it 6 months rust starts appearing.
