Crochet for Beginners: A Stitch Dictionary with Step-by-Step Illustrations and 10 Easy Projects Paperback – Illustrated, May 31, 2022

Nice book for beginners. I have been crocheting for years and as I teach friends, I wanted a nice book for them to see and visualize how the stitches look. This book definitely fits the bill. There are a few cute patterns in the back, however, if you are comfortable crocheting I would not buy it for the patterns. But if you want to know how to crochet and desire to see stitches step by step on paper, this is a wonderful book. I also like that it shows the ins and outs of crocheting, as well as the tools, what the different size yarns and hooks mean, and how to use it all together. Great book for beginners.

PERFECT for beginners. The images are very detailed and step by step. I do wish they were more in depth though.

I recently became crocheting, and I thought it would be nice to have a handy reference book in case I forgot what some stitches were called. Unfortunately, I just didn’t find it to be as useful for me as I was hoping. Firstly I appreciate appreciate all the diagrams but I think I actually probably would’ve been better served by pictures rather than drawings of some of these stitches. And then secondly the patterns are extremely detailed in a way that’s almost confusing. I started crocheting using Woobles and these instructions are so much more complicated than those. Same with when I did a large picnic blanket from Sirdar. For me personally, I would give this three stars, but I will allow that other people learn in different ways.

Great book for beginners. Easy to understand instructions someone without any experience. Explains all needle sizes, when to use what texture of yard. What I found most helpful was meaning of abbreviations used in instructions.

Excellent diagrams and photos. Clear and easy to follow. I've even gifted it. Great book.

If this is for beginners, I am a monkees Aunt! If you don't memorize the first half of the book you can't do anything without looking it up. All instructions are abrevations. So back and forth from back to front. Then I forget my place. I guess I need more visual. Not a book for me.
