Q: I want to use this as a timer for my radiant floor heating...not a thermostat. Is there any reason that would not work?

Your hydronic system likely uses a 27v control scheme. Most of those setups only have two wires. R/w. No common side for the 24. You would be looking for a standard thermostat, or a digital one that can run purely off batteries. (can also use a nest if you take it off the wall and charge it with a micro USB phone charger every other month). From a heating standpoint you should never be using a timer for your radiant floor. The thermal mass takes to long to heat up from a cold stop and if your doing that alot you will run up your gas or electric bill. If you unfortunately have a single pressure/dhw shared water system and need to move water through the pipes during the summer to prevent unhealthy potable water issues, you want to do that with a timer at the actual pumps.

Yes, 2 baseboards can be hooked up to one thermostat as long as the wiring is compatible, and the combined wattage of both heaters is below 3800W.
