could I put a wire bound note book it in? or only a pad of paper....

The issue is the opening for the pad. It is in the top so to secure, only a pad of paper would slide in. Now I have seen spiral bound pads with a back that would slide down into the slot but unsure where those were from.

Are these made on the USA?

Nope these Leather portfolios are handmade by Indian artisans in INDIA.

Will a galaxy A7 tab fit in here?

Probably not, I find it difficult to add anything but a legal size paper pad.

I think that I am getting the idea and understand thick and hard but, what is "hardbound"?

Imagine the difference between a softcover and hardcover book. Hardbound here means the left and right sides are stiff, rather than floppy. They have a stiff board with cloth sewn to cover the inside.

Very thin leather

Looks ok, but seems overpriced for what you get. The leather is very thin, I have concerns about how long this will stand up to everyday use.

Highly recommended

Well-crafted, gorgeous leather. Have gotten quite a few compliments on it from both colleagues and prospective tenants while on tours. Would have loved a couple additional pockets, like for business cards, and an extra pen holder, but definitely happy with my purchase.
