It is really well made. It is strong. One piece, Relatively easy to install. It can handle full heavy panniers. The center of gravity will be low, perfect for touring.

Not made like they used to
I have been using Blackburn racks on my bikes for the last 40 years or so, and bought this for my new bike as the closest to what I've used in the past. The design has changed. While the older racks were made from aluminum rods, this rack is made from aluminum tubing. Because my new bike has a hub width of 135mm (like many, if not most new bikes), I had to spread the ends of the rack stays to fit over the hubs. The spreading operation went fine. Then I needed to square the ends of the stays so that they were parallel to the mounting locations on the frame at the rear hub. I squared the ends by closing a large crescent wrench around the end and then pulling on the crescent wrench to bend the end. While bending one of the ends, the rack made a sharp 'ting' noise, which I infer was one side of the aluminum tube fracturing. No fracture is visible, and the rack seems to be behaving, but I'm waiting for it to break the rest of the way. Bottom line - not made like they used to.

VERY Sturdy - use it with our Blackburn Co-pilot child seat
Bought this item for a second bike, so my wife and I can attach the child bike seat to either bike quickly and go for a ride.. Product actually seems sturdier than the original rack that came with our Blackburn Co-Pilot child seat. It was easy to install and the product performs as indicated.

It’s a rack.
It’s a rack, jack. It won’t crack. It’s got your back.Normal rack fits fine around disc brakes. Clears 29-1.9” tires. I’m happy.

Screws loosen after a few rides
Terrible for nyc because of potholes. Screws came loose and everything I had on the rack fell into the street while I was biking. Would not recommend

I had to bend theextenders to attach the rack to my frame. I did notneed to tap a new hole .All the screws fit to attach rackto the frame.( I did not need the instructions to install.) Good Quality Rack
Worked well for my bike. There is room for a lot of flexibility, took me 20 minutes to install. The rack felt sturdy with the p-clips tight to the frame

What a rack!
Heavy duty, classic design that just works. I really like the mounting hardware that comes with these pannier racks. I have an older version of this on another bike it uses slightly thinner aluminum rod and has been going strong for a decade with no complaints.

Good classic, standard rack that works perfectly with the Co-Pilot baby seat. Comes with fitting kit if you don't have frame bosses.

Good but odd fitting
This is a good, solid rack that’ll last many years but I’m not sure about the silver sections that need bending to fit it.
