Simple and Convenient Filament Storage Solution
I added one of these to my Qidi X-CF Pro to allow better filament roll change access while providing a dessicant capability for moisture control. It works great and the added volume for a reasonably large dessicant pouch ensures I won't have to change pouches often. The lid is easy to remove and install while providing a secure and airtight seal. This purpose-built solution integrates better than a separate box that would use up more "real estate" next to the printer. It installs easily on the existing spool holder on top of the printer unit and has set screws to keep it securely in place. The spool spins easily inside and the secure Bowden tube interface is the same as the other ones on the printer. It's a simple yet elegant way to keep filament dry while having easy access for roll changes. Keep your filament dry!
Keeping filament dry is essential and hanging a roll of filament in room air allows hydration to occur. The filament spool holder prevents this by enclosing the filament and holding desiccant inside the sealed box. It mount on a bunch of Qidi printers, like the i-fast. Just got two today and have been figuring out how to set them up. It is a quality item. My question is related to the image I’m posting. How do you safely remove the little black rod from the compression fitting? Everything else you need to know is spelled out clearly in the directions, except for this. Part of the black plastic is the compressed part of the fitting forms the ptfe tubing, but that rod can’t be there then. It could be a nice plug for when the dryer box is used for storage. I can’t yank it out as it is too tightly fitted. The answer directly from Qidi support is that the little black disc can be pressed towards the metal fitting, releasing the black plug. If you pull on that plug beforehand, it will likely get stuck, so don’t yank on it.

It does it's job
It's a passive dryer box that is designed to work with Qidi printers. It uses a bag full of desiccant to remove ambient moisture. I wouldn't rely on this to actually dry wet filament, that's what dedicated filament dryers are for. The dessicant bag holds a substantial amount of dessicant which can be reused when saturated by heating in an oven and the unit itself seems adequately sealed so filament should remain dry for a while.

Works great on my QIDI iFast
Need this box for some of the more advanced material the iFast can print. Today was glass filled nylon from MH called Nylong. Standard 1Kg reels fit nicely in box. The box fits the rear stands for the iFast, has 2mm feed for outside the printer to keep the filament away from ambient air. No instructions except the quick start guide on the cover, so I mounted it like you see in the photo, keeps the bend radius down. Box has a large desiccant area shown in photo. This is a dry box, not a drying box - it does not provide heat to dry the filament, but does a great job at keeping it dry. Next up will be PA12 CF sometime this week.

QIDI Dry Box
I ordered this for my i- Fast printer but it came with 2 already. This one will be used on a different 3d printer. It is well constructed. When you receive filament and pre dry it , especially great for tpu and high temp carbon fiber. This dry box has a large bag of desiccant that goes in the bottom square part,PTFE which appears to be Capricorn to feed to the extruder. 4 latches to keep it enclosed tightly.QIDI uses that don't have this for there printer,I think is is a must have.It seems to be a little pricey for what it is.The only thing I think its lacking,is a clear plastic window in the front so you can see how much filament is left on the spool.Granted if you are using runout sensors you will eventually know. But lets say I was going out for a few hours or to work and I knew the spool was low,I would be able to change it out sooner. The other option is to remove one side from spool holder while printing and pop open the case to check it which I have.If you own a really nice expensive QIDI printer I think this is a must have. I will post a pic above of the 2 that are on my QIDI i - Fast. I hope this review helps you out.

excellent product amazing printing results very recommend !!
Like all other Qidi products, this is a great option for independent filament drying without the need for preheat printing. For the cost of this dryer and the performance you get out of it I feel it is the best option on the market. You do not need any electricity / power supply, the dryer as a tube that connects directly to a drying box directly to the press. The quality of the printer is amazing.I really recommend purchasing it.
