I'm an engineer, I started soldering in 1968, and I own and have used some really nice soldering stations. And while I wouldn't use this for some of the more intricate soldering tasks, such as attaching option resistors the size of a grain of salt, for everything "human size" this is my go-to default iron. I can take it to the work without even thinking about wires. I solder in the lab, in the datacenter, in the workshop, at my several desks, and there is no room for a soldering station everywhere, and dragging a whole station with all of it's parts and stand and power wire is too much. I put this on a small 2ah battery and it lasts for weeks. It works with all of the ts100/ts101 iron inserts, so this is a completely open system, and you have access to all of the accessory product for the ts100 series.

I've been working with electronics for over 50 years, even making a living wielding a solder iron when I was younger. This is a great tool for quick jobs away from the bench. I'll be taking this when I go out to work on gear. Heats up quickly, works with all the T12 iron tips I have, and the handle is decent. Solid value here!

I was un-aware that this solder station was also able to be plugged in. Not only that it also comes with the plug. Very happy with this. Bought this for work so I can do electrical repairs on cranes and equipment. That's why I needed battery powered. It works fast on battery and power plug. I'm very pleased with it and it heats up very fast. Can't wait to try it out. The only fault I can find is that when you use the plug and not a battery is that it's so lite it can tip over with the iron in the holder or the tip of the iron will touch the table it's setting on... Plastic tables are bad place to solder. But I use it mostly for portability. So I love it.

Works as advertised, very happy with its performance. Surprisingly, I had no problem soldering outside with a slight breeze on a cool day. This is extra useful because T12 tips are inexpensive​ and pretty much ubiquitous. Nice being able to buy the tips I need, not ones meant for specialized use.Reason for four stars is mine didn't come with a power supply/adapter and the USB outlet draws current even when disconnected. That wouldn't be a problem if I had the plug-in power adapter. Having a constant slow current draw isn't good for optimal battery life.

This soldering iron is probably the best soldering iron I have ever owned. It warms up almost instantly. Adjustable tip temperature. The only drawback is that it doesn't work very well with the included power supply. You have to move the plug in the soldering iron socket for it to work. Although even then it sometimes shows an error code on the display. I bought this soldering iron mainly to use with a battery, so I don't care about it working well with a power supply. I will definitely buy it again.

Works great. Love that you don't need an outlet nearby. Have only used with the battery as a power source and it comes up to temperature quickly. For $30 it has definitely exceeded expectations.
