Updated - It works great, creates ice fast, and gets the job done well - albeit with flaws
So far, it's been chugging along doing its thing, and doing it pretty well. It is kinda noisy when the motor is running to make more ice, but it's in a room with a water cooler, and other things like that, so it is not really a big deal. Yes, you can hear it dropping ice nuggets into the bin from another room, but it isn't like overly annoying or anything. The ice that comes out is nice, but, and I'm going to be critical here for a moment... if you are looking for something like a typical ice maker in a fridge, that is dedicated to the task, that keeps ice at ~zero temps, this is not the device you are looking for.The ice that comes out of it is very wet, close to already melting. I guess I should say, I do live in a place where it is very warm, AZ. Humidity in my house is on the medium side (40-50% depending on the day this time of year). It won't last long in any glass you put it in. If you pour warm soda into the cup, it will likely just melt all the ice and you'll have to add more pretty quickly. Normally a Yeti will hold ice (from the freezer designed to hold it at a low temp) for a day or two before it has melted - I'm going to repeat that test just to see how long it lasts. Why do I mention this? I guess, when I typically think of Ice Machine, I'm thinking of Ice Machine with Freezer to preserve the ice. The way this thing works, is you pull the bin out, and pour water into the bottom of the machine up to the fill line, then you push the bin back in and hit the Ice button (if it isn't already lit). This starts up the compressor and, no lie, within maybe 15 minutes, this thing started chunking out ice. The bin that is holding said ice, has holes in the bottom of it, so as the ice melts in this bin, it will drain back down into the bottom. Once the ice level drops enough, the machine starts creating more ice to bring the level back up. Because this bin is not insulated, and these compartments aren't really meant to preserve said ice, the process is kinda fast to where the ice will melt down and recirculate again. What I wish it had :- A fill port so I don't have to pull out the bin to do this. It's kinda messy since the ice is always wet, but I just keep a cloth there to wipe up the water. I may actually rig up a way to do this.- A refrigerated, or better insulated, bin compartment that would delay the melting of the ice and hold it at a lower temperature, so it would be more resilient to room temp drinks.Do I regret buying it? Nah, it does a good job, and I like it. My wife likes the ice coming out of it (this was a birthday present for her), so she is happy with it. If I had a freezer to move the ice to upstairs, then it would be less of an issue. If I were using it downstairs where my fridges are, I could just pull the bin and dump it into the tray inside my freezer and have great crushed ice that would definitely be a lot colder. As long as you go into it with managed expectations, it is a great product at the price point. I looked at adding one to my counter to do the same job, full time (fits into the narrow cabinet space in your kitchen cabinets) and it was going to be several thousands $ to get. This one is saving a lot and getting the job done.Update 10/2023 : I've had some issues, to say the least. The first thing I encountered, was that one of the bolts that holds together the top of the mechanism that rotates knocking out the ice, just up and broke. I disassembled the machine, found the broken bolt, went to Ace and picked up a bolt/nut replacement, put it back together and it kept working fine. Disassembly/reassembly on this thing is a PITA, it takes a long time and there are a bunch of bolts. The parts and inner workings are simple enough to understand, but the construction of this thing is dreadful. The second thing, which has now taken it out of commission, is the rotator motor has failed. It starts, it runs for a few minutes, it slows down and stops. Recycle power and it starts again for a few minutes, then stops again - sooner this time. Were it not for this, the machine would still work fine. I don't know if it will be possible yet to fix this, but there's where I'm at now.14 months was the life of this appliance so far. If I can't resurrect the motor, then it is gone.

It works great BUT it’s LOUD
It works wonderfully, the ice is perfect, machine is just loud. That’s why I subtracted one star. ⭐️ And I don’t mean from dumping the ice into the bucket/bin loud, I’m talking about when the water pump starts running. But it will keep the ice bin full of fresh ice. 🧊I keep mine on our drink station/coffee bar which is in another room, so it’s not too bad for us. You may want to consider where you’re going to place it in your home.Cleaning it is easy, it has drain hoses for the upper and lower water reservoirs. And it has a cleaning cycle. You can purchase a large pitcher to drain the water into or you carry it to the sink.Bottom line, would I recommend it? Given the cost vs the name brand competitor, yes I would.

Great but not the greatest ever..
Ordered this ice maker to replace our GE pellet ice maker that could not be revived. This does the job but not gonna lie, I was spoiled by the GE model having a large reservoir that kept it making ice all day so I only had to fill it at the most, 2x/day. Now that literally every person in my house totes a Stanley 40oz around all day, this thing has become my whiny toddler who constantly needs to be filled with water.Love the ice but will make sure our next one has a bigger reservoir. This is real first world stuff….

Ice Machine of your dreams
This is a diamond in the rough. Sleek looking, quiet when producing ice, and the quality of ice is on point. Sits on the counter looking chic. I would recommend using distilled water. I did not see anywhere from the manufacture to use said water, but from experience that would be the best course of action. Bought this in July and almost a year later had some issues. Customer support does what they can but you can tell they don't invest in customer satisfaction. Or even an affective resolution. I would buy the warranty but again, not sure how much attention they will give to you. They will have you go through their website and you risk fraud on your credit card. I would go into this purchase with the mindset that it works great when you take care of it, use the right water and descale every month. Don't rely on any help from the manufacturer or their customer support.
