unverified disk
I ordered this to replace an older QNAP that is starting to have issues. Well, issues with this right out of the box:- While I thought I ordered a DS1621xs+ with tons of disk space, I received a DS1823xs+Seems the 1621 was discontinued, so I am ok with the newer model.- Hard Disks: WD Red plus - NAS does see them but flags them all as unverified and suggests that I replace them soonest before data is lost (heh, no data on them yet).- SSD Disk: Crucial PCIe 3.0 NVME M.2 SSD - NAS sees them but also flags as unverified AND CRITICAL, needing replacement ASAP.This appears to be a SYNOLOGY issue with them really wanting you to use THEIR disks.Will these disks work without issue? They should, but that is the question. Do I want to see constant alerts from the NAS that the devices (hdd, ssd) are flagged in RED and unverified and need replacing? NO, absolutely not.Can anything be done to resolve the unverified? Per Synology, I can try updating the drivers... this did not help, drives still show as unverified and needing replacement.Need to decide if I want to deal with unverified or return... I see the unverified potentially causing issues with updates, etc.Edit to add/clarify: the NAS, Disk and SSD were ordered as a package deal, so Disk and SSD should have been compatible. Note that the only valid device Disk and SSD for the DS1823xs+ must be Synology branded

HDD’s and SSD’s not compatible
Buyer be aware that HDD and SSD sent with this unit (upgraded model is being shipped) is not compatible and will show up in the dashboard as unverified and in a status of “Critical”, you will receive email notifications as such as well from the system. The upgraded model shipped is an DS1823xs+ because the listed model is discontinued.One of the HDDs that I received has already crashed and needed to be replaced. I have already needed to rebuild the storage pool once after 3 weeks of running it due to failure.The store sending is helpful up to a certain point, and their responsiveness is very slow. Noise level is high due needing to run fans in cool mode. Had I known that the drives would not be compatible then I would have gotten something else for this amount of money.
