Shapes
This book is great! Wish it had more shapes. It has only five shapes which are super basic and easy to teach. They need to come up with more shapes and mention how many sides they have and if they are equal to each other.

Cute Shape Book for Children
Bought this book for my baby girl to help learn her shapes. I love this book it has a cute story of the spider trying to build his web. The wind comes along blows the web down he just built and has to rebuild his web but buildings a new shap to see if it helps. Fun way to learn shapes and love on the last page because it questions so your child can point to the shapes and learn them. Fantastic book just what I was looking for.

Cute sturdy bright story about a cute little spider.
This book is a wonderful book for both my 20 mo and 4 yo. Great for learning about shapes but also about trying and trying again. My 20 mo always claps so hard at then end and cheers. We’ve ready this pretty much each night several times for the last few weeks (with my little one). Such a great story, bright colors and sturdy pages. He’s loves spiders so this was a great find.

Lovely book, great illustration
I am a teacher, I bought this book to use it as a hook for my geometry lesson. Children loved it. It s a great story and you can use if for so many ideas and lesson plans.I also read it to my niece, who is 3, not for a lesson and she loved it so much, we made a puppet out of pom poms that looks like Walter. It is a good size book, not too small you can't see the images, not too big you can't hold it in one hand. Illustration simple but effective.

What a wonderful book!
I bought this book to read to my Nursery children (I am a teacher). It is such a super find as it not only teaches little ones about spiders and how they make webs, but it also teaches them about different shapes. A really lovely book, well written, beautifully illustrated. A parent has already asked me for the title & author of this book, as her daughter loved it, and she wanted to purchase it for her to share with her at home.

Hopgood does it again!
We are big fans of Tim Hopgood in this house from Hoppy to A wonderful world. This book is great on several levels in our house it deals with shapes in the style of hoppy with whether Spring has sprung and wow said the owl with colours, but also the protagonist is a spider and after a freak out at a real life spider we've sung a lot of incy wincy to persuade our 2 year old that spiders won't hurt her.And our daughter LOVES Walter and this book and it's been a firm favourite since arriving in the house and has certainly helped her conceptualisation of shapes. The art is typical Hopgood, scratchy shapes and textures of paint, crayon and pencil here in a lovely yellow toned colour scheme, and Walter is drawn in a playful friendly manner with big eyes, little eyebrows and a smile to appeal to children. The language is simple with repetition and onomatopoeia 'whoosh' and shapes are consolidated with the web shape and then a block print of the shape on the opposite page. It's not just educational on the point of shapes, it's great for teaching perseverance and a growth mindset of ' try try again' and problem solving,Overall, an excellent addition to the the Hopgood collection and any young children's bookshelf with good messages as well as educational value.

Lovely!
Fantastic children’s book! I bought this for my 17 month Grandson and I was so impressed I will probably buy the whole set! It is sturdy, colourful, the story is engaging and educational with a lovely underlying message to keep going when some things are hard to do! Love it.

Lovely little gem
Beautifully written book. My little 2 year old girl is in love with wow said the owl so we thought we’d try this one. It doesn’t disappoint and puts spiders in a lovely little light ( she’s getting at the age where she is picking up on others scared responses to them). She’s now an avid spider fan...I still need a little work in that area ;) and is really picking up in her shape names.
