Excellent Travel Tripod
After reading all the reviews I was a bit hesitant to purchase this tripod. However I couldn’t be more satisfied with my purchase. I brought this to New Zealand with me and it fit easily in my checked back as well as my backpack for hiking. I used it there for landscape and astrophotography and it really worked great. It feels solid and the actions are smooth and feel solid. I have had no problems. Only comment I have is that it’s a little shirt for me. But it’s a travel tripod so it’s expected.

Ergonomically designed, fast set-up and use
Though I am used to having handles more than just knobs, it makes set-up faster and adjustments quick and easy. The solid frame with rigid locks don't allow it to shake or vibrate. It is light-weight making it weigh less than most cameras and just a breeze to set-up and set where you want it.

Amazing Tripod , better then Manfroto
What a Amazing tripod. Didn't think much when i ordered. But when it arrived, i was very impressed.Very strong and but compact. Many functions and options to put the tripod in different angle and stand.Well build and great quality. Im so glad that i returned the Manfroto tripod and got this one instead.

Very short and poor ball head - not recommended
This is a travel tripod. It is designed to be short when folded.. The logical extension is that when extended it is still short, so under NO CIRCUMSTANCES purchase this as your main tripod, as the height (with extended legs but column down) is cripplingly low and discomfort will ensue very quickly. The legs are reasonably stable but the double height column extension makes the tripod far to prone to vibration, so really the column should never be up more that 4-5".In this particular example, the ball head is "ok", though knob movement from locked to camera banging loose is very very small, so use with great care... It is after all, a base model ball head so lacks drag control, so again, do not buy if you have valuable gear. In this example, sadly the panorama movement required excessive effort to move (even with the lock knob removed) and so is useless... This purchase was a total dud. This was purchased as a Xmas present so was opened after the return window, and its a dud with no recourse... lesson learned.Summary:Buy this ONLY if you are looking for a short, travel tripod, be prepared to check it immediately, and consider a ball head upgrade.Do NOT buy this as a main tripod. It is very short and the ballhead is cheap

Ballhead isn't really useable
This is a review for the B690A. I like the size and weight of this tripod. It's also easy to collapse when you're done with it. But there are a couple of negatives that prevent me from recommending it. The ballhead moves no matter how much I tighten the knobs. Luckily I had another ballhead from an older tripod. The quick release plate is plastic. I assume it would be good enough, but when your placing your expensive gear on it, I just trust a metal plate more. The red clips that allow you to collapse the legs hold well when the legs are pushed outward, but they don't hold the legs at all if the legs get pushed inward. For example, if you accidentally bump into your tripod, there's a chance that the leg could slide toward the inside and possibly tip your camera over. I also don't really trust the tripod when on an incline, for this very reason.

Great tripod, definitely worth the price!
This tripod is made of aluminum making it both durable and lightweight. It folds up nicely into a 17" x 5" x 5" bag which is super easy to pack. The height adjustments with the lever clamps on the legs and the twist knobs on the neck are simple to use and I have found the lever clamps to easily be used one-handed while holding the tripod with the other which makes for quick adjustments on the fly. The ball head which the camera is connected to allows for super fine adjustments and once the screw is tightened down, it doesn't budge. The adapter that connects the camera to the tripod (the piece that screws into the bottom of the camera) is small enough to allow for battery swapping without removing the piece which I found to be super convenient.I have yet to have any issues with the tripod and I've taken it on camping trips where it got beat up and thrown around a bit and it's still sturdy.

Seriously the best tripod I've ever had.
Seriously the best tripod I have every had. It's super light weight and versatile. It's super stable to the point I can walk around and there is almost no camera shake. When I placed it on sand it never shifted. Can not recommend this enough.

Works Great for me
Love the versatility with this tripod. Used recently for some close-up stills of tabled merchandise using a Nikon D5200 and a Nikon 24-70mm lens. The ability to easily adjust the height and leg extensions. I chose this model also for the clips that secure the legs in place as opposed to the screw out type. The only issue I have is the insecure level when using my long 24-70mm lens by almost tipping over the camera. Otherwise, this is a perfect tripod for my use. Will look at a heavier duty tripod when using larger lens.
