Rubber-Cal Elephant Bark Rubber Flooring - 3/16" Thick

Great! I bought 48’x48’ for my dog’s indoor kennel flooring. I just wish the flooring was cut straight and not on a diagonal. Other than that it works perfectly for my needs! Light weight and easy to move.

Very well made. I had some concerns regarding possible rubber smell but it turned out that the smell was very mild and it went away in a couple of days. Highly recommended for any home gym.

Excellent. I wanted to have a waterproof mat under the fridge since it has leaked twice in the past 10 years and we only noticed it when the water was visible in the basement. I went to the custom molded mat websites and could not find anything (they were all specialized for car mats). This mat is versatile enough to bent as the edges. The corners were a little thicker since I did not want to cut it. The mad was easily screwed into the side cabinets and wall studs about 4 inches above the ground. The material was very easy to sit with scissors and moderately easy to cut with a knife and straightedge. This will last a lifetime Edit: it is now 6/2021 (about 6.5 years later). This is still working great. Hera are some updates. About 6 years after, I bought a similar mat from a different company for an AbCoaster which was 50% more expensive for the same size and thickness. The surface was smoother, but getting it was a hassle because the first order was delayed by a week, then shipped to the wrong address. Then I had to wait another week for the delivery. A month later, I needed another exercise equipment mat for a Roman chair and found Rubber Cal again on Amazon. The order arrived quickly and correctly. I am now buying a third mat for a vertical leg press machine. I am buying from Rubber Cal again, because for the product, price, and delivery, Rubber Cal is the best for me. Edit: third mat update. I just got it yesterday. And the surface is very smooth. Not sure why the previous ones were not as smooth. 🤔 this was was only packaged in Saran Wrap once and had some discoloration on the part exposed. Unfortunately to place it down with the curved ends down, this discoloration shows. This is not optimal, but acceptable since I will be putting a vertical leg press machine on it. 5/2022 got a fourth mat for the grill. Since previous tray and mat disintegrated after a 2-3 years. We shall see if this lasts outdoors.

I use these in my home gym, they're great. I've had them for almost a year and had no issues whatsoever, until I bought a nice bench. I bought a REP bench that weighs 125~lbs, and every time I move the bench the mats crumple beneath the wheels and then they're all out of whack. I suppose I could fix this by securing the mats to each other or the floor, I just don't want to committ to the flooring long term right now. It's not a quality concern, the quality is phenomenal and I love the look of these mats, it's just the thickness presents some issues sometimes when you're talking about dragging heavy objects across it. Would I recommend? Sure, I don't regret the purchase whatsoever, but just know they're not as thick as commercial gym flooring as the description clearly states, they're thick enough to prevent you from destroying your floors, although I wouldn't test the waters with anything extremely heavy.

I purchased two of these rubber mats for my home-gym floor that is concrete and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase! These Rubber Cal mats are thick, sturdy, and will last me ‘forever’ — and they are cushiony enough to give me a layer over that concrete, but firm enough for my workouts, particularly where I have my heavy bag and needed something firm but with some give, and that I can shuffle my feet on but not slide around on—they are not slippery at all and that was a huge plus for me, that they are not slick. They roll out like a rug—easy to install! I just unrolled each one over the area I wanted to cover: done. They come in different sizes, again, like a rug. I ordered 4x6 and 4x7. I choose just plain black. I’d definitely order these again—I have another area I want to cover. When you open the box, there will be a slight rubbery scent but it wasn’t unpleasant, and once I placed them in my workout room and went back later, I didn’t notice it at all. I also love that they are American made, a big plus. Very pleased! Recommend!

Build a home gym over PLUSH carpet in a few easy steps! 1. Measure room and have Home Depot cut you 1/2” plywood sheets to fit. Place directly on carpet. Allow dog to inspect. 2. Tape sheets together with extra thick black gorilla tape (add to your Amazon order!) 3. Roll out floor and push together to align. Run rolls opposite the seams of plywood. So HEAVY that I didn’t even need to tape it down. 4. Place equipment on top! You’re done! I cannot BELIEVE how much money I saved with this product. Our home gym floor is sturdy, no slip, catches weights. Haven’t tested drops over 200 lbs but very durable so far! No curling so no tripping. Sweep clean. All of this over brand new super high pile carpet. Cheaper than stall mats. Medium odor that dissipates to very low odor in a couple days. Just has a traditional gym-like smell that I very much enjoy. The smell doesn’t make it out to the hallway. Incredibly minor variation in cuts, about 1/8” in length. Seriously, save hundreds and pick this floor!

I waited a few months before writing this review to test the durability of this flooring. Being that this is 3/16" I wasn't sure how well it would hold up in my garage home gym. With heavy weight equipment and constantly moving around weights, benches and other equipment on the floor, it has held up extremely well. There are no signs of any type of wear or marks of any kind, even with consistent placing of weights on the floor. It was very easy to install as well. Once the flooring was unrolled, it stayed quite flat and butted against the next sheet with virtually no seam showing. (no adhesive necessary.) It was also easy to trim since it wasn't that thick. The flecks of color are throughout the flooring, so if it ever does get dull, you could just turn the sheets over. There was only a mild rubber smell for the first few days, but then it dissipates. The flooring also provides a non slip surface with minimal cushioning. I would highly recommend this rubber flooring!

I ordered two of these for my home gym and made sure they were the same size. Once arrived, one of them is six inches longer than the other and isn’t cut straight so they don’t line up. It’s annoying but not the end of the world. They also leave a bunch of crumbles all over the floor so I have to sweep every time I workout. Also, I’m a woman with longer hair and my hair sticks to these and is nearly impossible to get off. (Just loose hairs from adjusting my ponytail etc). Mine didn’t have a weird a smell to them and they work okay for my needs.

At least 8 years ago i started using this recycled ruber called elphant rubber and was a very good purchance.I was amazed on how strong and eaasy to install that product is. My first use was for outside porch. It does not have to be glued or tied down an stays in place. You can drop any thing on it and does not even make a mark; easy to keep clean, snow or ice does not stick to it, it does not discolor etc... My second purchace now; after 8 years is for my garage floor. IT IS STRONG !!!!!!!!!

I cut the 20ft section in half to make an 8x10 gym area. Small seam between the two pieces, but the materiel is square enough that I didn't bother to tape the pieces together. I'm on a tile floor over concrete. This gives a nice grippy surface to work out an, and protects the tiles.

Nice and thick - easy to cut with a pair of scissors. I used this as a base for my inflatable hot tub. It worked great, and I feel a lot better having this laid down instead of just putting the tub on my wood deck.
