10 months into it's year lifetime and still burning!
10 months into it's year lifetime and still burning. Both lit immediately and have been going ever since. Very low ozone smell for the first week maybe and fine ever since.

ONLY for Aquatic Sterilization; NOT for air
These work great for aquarium/pond UV Sterilizers because they are contained in a sealed environment. However, when I tried it as a replacement for a room UV Sterilizer it produced a huge amount of ozone in under five minutes. That means these bulbs are toxic for use in air based UV deployments. Quick sciency thing: UV has a significant range of wavelengths from about 100-400mm. Room and HVAC UV units run at around 250mm wavelength. This is also called UV-C (200-280mm). At 254mm, Ozone is broken down and the units are safe to use in open air applications. These UV Units are running at UV-V which produces shorter than 200mm wavelengths. The most ozone is produced around 185mm. So these lights are fine for sterilization purposes, but don't use them outside of a sealed environment because the ozone production is dangerous. UPDATE: Lights lasted 2-3 weeks each. Burned out. I run 24/7 so I'm not even stressing them out by turning them on or off... Bad.

Low cost and an extra bulb
I use to buy the replacement bulbs from my AC guy at triple the cost. These work great and getting two bulbs is a plus. Thanks Amazon
