I used these to correct a sloppy electrician mistake in my home. Around 80% of the electrical boxes in my home are not mounted flush to the drywall. They're usually mounted well below it, some by nearly 3/8 of an inch. My electrician must've been in a hurry or cross-eyed when he nailed them to the studs. So what happens is the normal screws that come with most electrical switches and plugs are too short and won't engage with the threads in the boxes. So finding these was a great solution. They're the correct thread pitch and diameter, but they're much longer. They solved the problem.
