GomadicTipExchange Tip 90

Over-all, I'm sold on the whole Gomadic Tip Exchange system. It's really convenient to be able to use a single charger on a variety of electronics. Their web site lists a pretty large selection of supported cell phones and other devices and their associated tips. The price of each tip is quite affordable, which makes this both cheap and convenient. I bought this particular tip to charge my new Kindle. My only complaint is that it's not just a compact little tip, like the others, but a short segment of wire. It's a pretty minor complaint, though. I'm just a stickler for consistency.

Unlike every other Gomadic TipExchange adapter I've bought (I have at least a half-dozen by now) this one is not a neat single piece as illustrated, Instead it consists of a male end to fit the wall wart, a piece of wire, then the male end to fit the phone. This does not mean that it doesn't work, just that it is more difficult to pack for the road. I carry my adapters in an old 35mm film canister which fits all of the standard ones perfectly but this new one must be very carefully coiled up causing it to use up three times the space it really should. Why would they make a change like this? I have no idea. Why don't they provide a proper illustration of what they intend to ship so that the buyer might at least be forewarned? Again, I have no idea.

The tip works exactly as expected. Not a single problem and it is so much cheaper than buying a whole new car charger for my phone. It is also a lot easier to deal with a few tips in the car instead of few different whole chargers. I love it. Also, I've seen in other reviews that some people didn't like the extra length of the tip, but personally I like it. The cord I have is a litte on the short side and the extra length is helpful.

Excellent product, in keeping with the whole Gomadic system.This exchange tip, no.90, allows my Galaxy S to be charged when traveling on a plane (after the cell battery is exhausted during the flight thru listening to music or watching a film).My Gomadic charger,containing 4 AA batteries,also allows me to charge my cell phone while on the move such as when leaving home or a hotel with the cell-phone battery exhausted ,having forgotten to charge it overnight with the regular wall charger.The cell-phone,of course, remains usable when connected to the charger.

How do u know wich one to buy? I just bought a htc one, do i get num 90 or 68? If anybody can tell how to choose that would be awesome. Ok, I just wrote a review and gave it a one. I love the fact that Gomadic makes a large number of chargers (wall, USB, combination, cigarette lighter, and many more) with the ability to use them on a variety of products by just changing the tip. It is both economical and "green" in that you don't have to keep purchasing new chargers, just the tips. This is a great product!

I recently contacted Gomadic related to a faulty cell phone charger, the second time it had broken. After waiting one week I emailed them again--at THAT TIME they responded that they HAD responded---(with a computer generated response.) Because I complained about the poor communication and response time, they said they would ship a new charger AFTER they received my broken one--go like three weeks without a charger?, I don't think so. I responded that they could keep their crappy charger. Buyer beware. Give a lifetime warranty= charge a lot initially AND make it difficult to utilize the warranty. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN, and I advise you to do the same. check out monoprice

I was pleasantly surprised with this charger we have three kindles in my household and have spent lots of money on Chargers is nice to only spend less than $10 on the tip that always gets destroyed thank you very much great product

Gomadic is a little known system, basically you buy just one charger and then order different tips to connect your device. It's American I believe. They also come with an exchangeable set of foreign-type electric plug-in fronts so you are pretty well sorted for overseas travel as well.I needed a charger for a Sony E Reader and their own one was a silly price, the Gomadic did the trick. Since then I've only needed to buy two more tips to cover almost everything I carry.With this (in theory) you only need carry or pack a single charger. So far I've found it works as promised.The only device I haven't been able to use it for is a Pentax Camera with a weird socket.Obviously nowadays more devices use the standard USB type charger and many come with a dis-mountable female socket so you can exchange the lead to get the same effect.

The tip is not clearly visibe in the picture on the Mobile App, but I bought it hoping it would be the right one (Micro USB) for my charger. It is very expensive £8 but at least the different audio tip adapts well to my charger so it should do the job.
