Building Construction: Principles, Materials, and Systems (What's New in Trades & Technology)

I read this book cover to cover 3 times and it helped me pass the ARE. I liked it so much that I gave my two copies to friends who are still taking the ARE and bought a hardcover copy for my personal library. The book is very thorough and explained many details of construction in ways that are easy to remember and understand. I've had my fair share of reference and exam prep books, but this one is by far the best and most comprehensive of them all. Highly recommend it to those who are taking the ARE!

Arrive ontime and in good condition. I bought this book as a requirement for a college course at UAB. So far it seems to have a thorough understanding of the construction industry coupled with lots of practical information.

Rough shape. But if it saves me $80 to rent I’ll take it. I also want to post these pictures incase there are any problems when I send it back. I don’t want to be blamed for the condition of this thing.

Great book highly recommend if you are taking methods and materials construction class . Very informal book and highly detailed in specific materials that are used in construction

this is a very good text book for the curious architect the wants to go deeper in to the fundamentals. if i was teaching i would use this book even for studio.

I used the book for school

I think this is not a big deal as many of you may already know what the construction is. I am a beginner and slow reading guy. Today I just came across Chapter 15, on page 376, it mentions about Figure 16, Figure 17, and Figure 18. But I can not find these on this page and the following pages. The pages are continuing without missing any pages. It's just the content it mentioned is missing. I contacted the publisher Pearson online support today, the guy told me to ask my instructor to contact Pearson since my instructor has the power to do so. Now I need to spend time to find these missing content. I don't know how much information on construction I will miss without reading these figures. I wonder if anyone ever noticed this. I put three consecutive pages here to show you how it looks like. I hope this is the only issue I found for such great textbook. Besides that, it's very informational and thorough.
