Great Surprise Find
Loved this film, more than I expected. I really enjoyed the way they mixed the genres, slasher, thriller, and mystery who-done-it into a really nice little indie horror film that actually surprised me at the end. I did NOT see that ending coming, and as a film collector with 2700+ Blu-ray and DVDs in my collection, that is kind of hard to do. Did a spotlight video of it on my YT show, Horror Metal Maestro Redrusty66 where I laid out the storyline, it's wonderful twists and the way it came together in the end to a very satisfying conclusion. If you are into independent and smaller budget films, this one is a fantastic addition to your collection.

Enjoyable, Suspenseful Mystery – Blu-ray Version
As others have experienced, when another vendor tried twice to send me a working DVD of the film, both tries failed. When I turned to Amazon’s streaming version, it was so enjoyable that I bought the Blu-ray. The good news is that the Blu-ray worked well too.The film begins with incoming freshman Brian Timms (Jordan Ver Hoeve) being assigned to room with sophomore Jeremy (Andrew Matthew Welch) in a dorm at (fictional) Starling University. When Brian finds a flashdrive belonging to Jeremy, Brian takes a look inside and discovers a set of films made by a webcam sex performer. The last of these films, made about a year ago, shows a figure totally encased in black attacking the performer, as a client elsewhere on the web screams in shock. The film breaks up at the end, corrupted. Brian’s only ally at first is his older, alumnus brother, Jacob (Will Peltz), who is a computer whiz. Over time, schoolmates are brought into the mystery. In reacting, a black-masked figure sends threatening videos and texts. Texting and social media accounts get hacked with spoofing messages designed to get the protagonists into embarrassing situations. Tension mounts to a violent climax, followed by an interesting start to the next academic year. There were personal relationship stories interlaced with the central mystery. There are gay, bi, and straight characters. Two or three of them were exploring their sexuality. Along the way, some of them change allegiances, with one deciding to bat for another team. There were a number of sex scenes, several non-consenting and several filmed without consent. The main male characters (except Jacob) have substantial skin scenes. The main female characters (except Chloe) get to dress edgy-sexy. The actors are all very good looking.“Exploited” has a lot going for it.The actors, though young, generally were quite experienced and give good performances. The prominent figures not mentioned so far are Makenzie Vega as Lexi (Jeremy’s girlfriend), Hannah Rose May as Janelle (Lexi’s roommate), Sierra McCormick as Chloe (the dorm R.A.), Spencer List as Tommy (assistant to Chloe), Colin Bates as Caleb Moore (a senior who wrestles), and Leah Pipes as Cynthia Walker, PhD (a New York Times Best Selling physics professor).Unusually, for this type of movie, the crowd scenes at a fraternity party and at a swank, straight pick-up bar were stuffed with appropriate-looking and -acting extras. I believed these scenes. (On the other hand, some of the scenes with Brian exploring the campus seemed depopulated.)The story unfolds naturally. The pacing and logic work well. There are no bizarre, inexplicable outcomes. There is no exposition tying up all the loose ends or explaining what has been seen. One has the opportunity to think about the movie afterward and decide on motivations and outcomes.Special effects were natural-seeming. There was a lot of material shown clearly on computer or smartphone screens. The results of shotgun blasts looked correct. Makeups were good. The music score ramped up the tension effectively, as needed.“Exploited” was filmed in and around Louisville, Kentucky, giving the audience a look at a less-filmed part of the country. The main downside to the Blu-ray was that the only extra feature was optional English subtitling. I was aware that there was a 2+ minute trailer made for “Exploited”, but it did not make it onto the disc.“Exploited” is a recommendable, suspenseful mystery, currently best enjoyed either by streaming or by Blu-ray.

Suspenseful thriller!
Suspenseful thriller with lots of twists and turns as well as a exciting surprise ending. I was on the edge of my chair throughout the film. All the actors are attractive and convincing in their respective roles. The gay theme gives a unique slant to the story and is very much in touch with the current generation. The principal male stars pull it off most convincingly. The pace of the film is perfect. It never drags. The music soundtrack is in touch with the story and underscores it well. The Blu-ray edition plays without a glitch and sports a sharp image. Unfortunately, there are no extras on the disc.I like a good thriller where the main characters survive unlike so many slasher films. If you like suspenseful thrillers, you will not be disappointed in this great film.

AMAZON & i-deals are aware this dvd is defective
The name says everything-I certainly feel EXPOLITED. This dvd is defective & both Amazon & i-deals are aware of this -yet Amazon permits it to be sold on their site, & i-deals is both selling this dvd & witholding the fact that this 'dvd' is a DVD-R, not a dvd. Some dvd/blu-ray players do not even play DVD-R's; though I've found that sound & picture quality is not as good as a DVD or Blu-ray. HAD i-deals disclosed this I would never have bought this. I've never seen a merchant NOT disclose that a 'dvd' is actually a dvd-R, because some players won't play DVD-R's. (It's the same as not disclosing that a DVD/Blu-ray is from a different region& won't play on one's particular player. Like others, I found this DVD-R has about 7 minutes, 25 seconds of video & the rest of the disk is blank. As there are multiple customers complaining about the defective disk & both Amazon & i-deals are permitting defective merchandise to be sold (& in i-deals case, selling DVD-R's as if they are DVD's-completely dishonest...!!!) Both Amazon & i-deals are Exploiting their customers & this needs to be addressed by Amazon & i-deals!
