Substandard product, you will regret it.
I purchased a 5 litre triply stainless steel pressure cooker in October, 2022. It has 5 year warranty period. However, the seller delivered a defective product with loose handles. I thought it would be alright by tightening the screws, so I decided not to return it. But that turned out to be a wrong decision on my part. Even after tightening the screws, the body handle always remained somewhat loose. With usage, the handles got loosen again and again to the extent of detaching themselves, and I had to tighten almost everyday. Then, the worst happened. Some days ago, the rapids which attached the steel connector of the handle to the body came off.I contacted Pigeon/Stovekraft customer helpline no. and also their WhatsApp no. In reply, the company sent me through WhatsApp a link showing their service centres in Delhi. When I contacted the telephone no. of my nearest service centre at Kotla Mubarakpur, the guy picking up the phone told me it was a wrong no. Then the service centre at Mukherjee Nagar ask me to send a photo of the product. I sent a photo but never got a response. Then I contacted the Uttam Nagar service centre (HS Enterprises). The proprietor ask me to lodge a complaint on Pigeon helpline no. first and then come to him. I called up Pigeon helpline no. again and explained to the female executive the reason for contacting the helpline no. again. But she rudely contradicted what the Uttam Nagar service centre had told me and suddenly cut off the call. With no option left, I spoke to the proprietor of the service centre again and apprised him the situation. This time, he asked me to come to his service centre.I went to the service centre but the proprietor flatly told me that repair of this nature doesn't come under warranty but is chargeable. As other service centres are far away and going there would be time and money consuming, I got my pressure cooker handle repaired at the service centre by paying repairing charge.My experience shows that Pigeon pressure cooker is substandard, it's seller and service centres are insincere, it's 5 year warranty is useless and it's helpline service is rude. Buy it, you will regret it.Post script/UpdateThe lid handle of my pressure cooker which I got welded on payment of money by the authorised service centre of the company (HS Enterprises, Uttam Nagar, Delhi) on 25 November, 2023 got broken yesterday, it didn't last even a month. Never buy this pressure cooker.
