Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare: Unlocking its Potential: 9781739637408: Medicine & Health Science Books @ desertcart.com Review: Successfully implementing AI in healthcare requires learning lessons from others - The author has done a nice job interviewing AI experts (mostly from the UK) to understand the obstacles that stand in the way of those trying to improve patient outcomes with AI. He explains why we see more AI success stories outside of healthcare and what needs to change to see success stories within medicine. This is a positive playbook about how to learn lessons from others and succeed at implementing AI in medicine. Review: Very Disappointing Book on AI in Healthcare - This book is mainly summaries of AI in healthcare sectors that you can easily glean from the Internet. It is relatively UK focused so not very practical for most readers. The discussions are very general without much technical background so it is not enough technical details for the clinicians to render this book a useful one. There are a few others in this domain that are far better in content and in scope.

Read this book if nothing else else but for the fact that Janak interviews (and knows) the policy makers, regulators, operational and IT leaders, and most importantly clinicians who are spearheading the application of machine learning in real world health care settings. Informative and enjoyable read. Particularly enjoyed the DRS (3rd umpire) analogy for computer vision in radiology - I’ll let you the reader unearth that gem!
