Must have if you use portable pa with vocals and guitar. Battery powered adds nice effect to vocals& guitar when running into pa
Battery powered volume mixing and Reverb which I run off of 9 volt rechargeable battery 400mh into an art dual preamp(battery powered) into my Behringer mpa40bt PA system input (battery powered). I use 1 for mics I'll be getting a second one for guitars / instruments. The sound when using this compared to not using this is so much better when you use this adding A little reverb, volume controls on each channel and getting multiple mics or guitars into the 1 pa system is Amazing. We did not even set up or power on are three additional acousticsonic amps we had in a room about the size of a 3 car garage. also chaining things how I did no volumes went above 4 out of 10 on anything from Guitar to mixer to preamp to input to master volume. No hiss no humm no issues. Ran 3 hours straight battery lasted no issue on mixer pre amp and pa. Pa still read 100% it hadn't dropped a 75% yet even on scale. If you're running vocals through a mic to a PA system and don't have any Reverb this is for you also if you would like to run up to 4 mics into your PA / input Channel this is for you.

Lots of gain.
The first thing I noticed is this thing has a lot of gain--50db. If you don't use it for anything else it makes a good preamp. I also have the version without the echo/delay, which only has 20 db, and this is noticeably more sensitive. Battery life seems good on both. One thing I really wish it had is a master volume control. Not sure why it doesn't when the non-effects version does. The echo/delay is OK, pretty typical of most low-end mixer effects these days. I miss good old-fashioned reverb but I guess that's a thing of the past. If you want more effects you can always feed this through a pedal or processor. The knobs seem a little more delicate than the non-effects model, but I don't bang my stuff around so I don't think it's a problem. For the price, it's a decent basic mixer. Pair it with a battery powered amp like a Mugig BM25 and you've got a nice little busking setup that doesn't require a wall outlet.

Nady MM-14FX 4-Channel Microphone Mixer
very good, gets the job done. Don't expect studio quality reverb or echo though, but it's good for practice and quick setup such as street performers

Mini, But Powerful Mixer
If you are looking for a FULLY portable mixer with minimal functionality, this is it !! You can power it up with an AC Adapter (I don't think it ships with one) or.... you can power it up with a 9V battery, which is how I always use it. It's a four channel mixer with 1/4" jacks on the back side. It works very well. If you are using wireless microphones (that have 1/4" microphones) they will plug right into the mixer. This is how I usually use it. No complaints. Priced well, but with great performance. I don't use the echo effects. So I cannot comment on that.

Perfect for my use
I definitely like the separate volume knobs, I run this a mixer and into powered speakers, so overall volume is not a problem. What I really wanted was the delay, using a slight delay (sort of an echo) and a touch of reverb from my mixer, I get the sound that I have been trying to achieve. Bravo to NADY...!

Didn't work for me.. I guess I got a broken unit.
There's always someone, who got to have received a bad unit, and in this case, it is me. The unit itself seemed ok, sturdy made, good enough for what it is. I initially bought it for an amplifier at home I have, to add some reverb to the voice, but the unit only produced a loud buzz on one channel! I even tried with headphones, and the same thing, just a buzz, no audio. I thank Amazon for the easy return prolicy!

Not too bad if you can fix it.
Mine arrived DOA. I figured I'd be safe buying a used one... Nah. Good news is that I build amps and effects for fun. I bought this for the reverb and mixing, I'm basically using it as a 4 way switcher for my guitars. Anywho's, the problem with MY unit was a bad diode, D1 to be exact. It was open. Soldered in a new diode and LED and all is well. You don't HAVE to buy the optional power adapter, but I'll leave all the alternative options up to you, mine works with a standard guitar pedal board power supply. The noise floor is very high (hiss) but can be compensated for with amp settings, but I'm going to look for a permanent fix. Make sure your ground wire housing connection has a true metal contact. The reverb is fun, very different from my guitar reverbs, but is still a nice effect for $25 plus a mixer.

Nady MM-14FX mixer
Rock solid piece of equipment. Very inovative concept of the battery tray for the 9 volt battery. Makes it simple to change battery in the field without having to use a screw driver. This unit has more zip than the MM 242 for pre amp purposes. (MM 242 does not have the effects.) If you use the unit in permanent location the wallwart power supply would be a good investment.

Very good mixer. It just one of the dial is kinda loose but still works perfectly. no humming/buzzing or anything. I haven't tried it yet with the power supply only with the 9V battery. Make sure you use a good quality stereo audio cable or adapter or it will have static. I tried the dollor store audio cable and it wasn't good but switch it with something solid and you will have a nice mixer. I just wish i can isolate or turn off/on the echo effects on each Channel. cause sometimes i dont want to use the effects on one channel but want the other channel to have echo effects.

Excellent! I use this for my 4 last musics shows as street musician and it's perfect. I still use the same 9v battery since I buy it so It give me more than 20 hours and the battery seem still good for an other 20h.
