Great budget motherboard, but was defected upon arrival.
The motherboard is pretty good and I was able to overclock my i5-8600k to 4.5ghz. However, there were 2 issues with the motherboard. After building my PC, it didn't turn on. Upon closer inspection, it had 5 bent LGA pins. I was able to bend them back to shape with a very tiny screwdriver and a magnifying glass. I'm not sure if it was a factory defect or I did it, but I definitely didn't touch or drop anything on the LGA pins. The second issue, in my opinion, is a pretty serious issue. The motherboard has these RGB LED lights on the side. The LEDs are stuck on orange. With the RGB fusion software, I can make them pulse or turn them off but can't change their color. I tried changing the color in the BIOS but they still don't change color. I can't be bothered to contact support since I live in New Zealand, and the support center is only open when I'm asleep or at school. Anyways besides those issues, the motherboard is great. Has many ports on the back which I find very useful and convenient. However, the price for this motherboard right now is $150. Right now isn't the best time to get this motherboard and recommend an AORUS gaming motherboard since it's a similar price and better. I only paid $120 for this which is a good price. The price tends to fluctuate a lot for this motherboard.

Good. I needed a PCI slot
Good. I needed a PCI slot. And I wanted to use Windows 7. This was a very good choice.

Z370 IS NOT A TRUE 300 SERIES CONTROL CHIP
I'd like to give this 3 or 4 stars, in spite of having been deceived by the 300 series publicity. I've included screen shots from Device Manager illustrating which drivers this chipset installs for SYSTEM DEVICES. Note: (200 Series Chipset family-). Note: (Xeon-E3 1200/1500 v5/6th Generation Gaussian Mixture and PCIe Controller x16). I'm happy to report that the 8600K functions flawlessly on all six mechanical cores, and despite the DEVICE MANAGER only seeing the 3.6GHz OEM internal clock, the actual clock pre-set by the GIGABYTE optimized defaults is graphed in the TASK MANAGER at a consistent 4.1GHz. Even without hyper-threading this CPU is no slouch. So, the Xeon controllers are bearable and I'd like to say dependable. Besides, the newer 300 series boards all exclude the legacy PCI expansion slot in favor of all PCIe auxillary slots. So, why does it deserve 2-3 stars only? Although it's clearly a 6th generation control chip, it's not rated for backwards compatibility. 8th generation is meant to be the only CPU series ever supported on this motherboard (.) Should this be problematic? My finger on the tech writers pulse suggests that the sense of betrayal from Intel loyalists won't diminish until an actual full functioning 300 series System Bus driver is released. I'm a part of a not invisible minority whose Windows-10 has consistently become stuck on RESTART every time I let Windows SHUTDOWN or SLEEP. This has been going on about a month and a half by my recollection. I cannot turn off the PC without resorting to the (hard-kill) power button on the case. In essence, the tweaked 270-series controller driver no longer communicates with the EFI circuit in the motherboard (.) WINDOWS-10 PRO It isn't enought to simply blame Microsoft. It also isn't enough to carelessly depend on daily grind users to invest in the 9th generation equipment already. I'm not blaming GIGABYTE for causing the problem. But in the absence of Microsoft or Intel being interested in solving this issue I believe it's time for the hardware developers to catch up and step up and fix it!

Very quality motherboard for the price; with one fatal flaw
So I originally said this motherboard had an unisolated PCI slot, which ended up being a problem from my 1080ti, it was coil whine but it was so loud and piercing that I could hear it through my headphones, as well as getting some feedback through them. I appear to have fixed this by limiting my framerate. Anyway, with that out the way this motherboard is very easy to overclock on, and it has a more basic theme without all the flashing lights which I really like. It is really nice to have the reinforcements on your graphics card and it has a good number of USB A ports. The bios is also probably the more straight forward bios I've ever used, and it arrived with no damage to any pins and was packaged quite nice. The gigabit ethernet is also actual gigabit, I get about 940mbps from the wall average. Edit: Even though I have fixed most of the coil whine by simply limiting my frame-rate in game by using nvidia inspector, or VSYNC for games that arent supported; I am still getting some through the headphones in different games. It seems to be completely random. This is definitely something to note when you get this motherboard. I've never been so back and forth with a motherboard before, and honestly, if you don't already have, or don't plan on getting an internal sound card (which you should just get a DAC in 2017) then this motherboard is great. But for my particular use case right now, it has an obvious flaw. Deducting 2 stars again. This motherboard should be more than sufficient for most people. But for me it proved to be a bad investment as I will now also need to get a USB Dac and sack the old sound card.

Using this with an i5-8600k. Works as expected. I like that it has a total of 4 fan headers, 4x rear USB 3.1 gen 1 ports plus 2x rear USB 2, as some other boards only have 2x 3.1 gen 1 on the back. And it has a good old reliable Intel Ethernet controller.

beautiful board, lots of features, kinda expensive if you just want a normal board, lots of I/O and pins
