Great budget 7' olympic barbell from a real brand in the fitness industry
Let me start with saying I own the 5 foot and two of the 6 foot versions of this bar and this 7 foot version is way better in so many ways. For the record there are several 7 foot versions of this bar, I ordered the "classic" in "chrome." I ordered it because I wanted to improve grip strength with a 30mm barbell and this was the cheapest one from an actual company that I have heard of. As an added bonus it includes free shipping in the price. Like the shorter versions of this bar that they make it does spin but at this price point as expected it is metal grinding on metal (not bushings or bearings). I am okay with this do to the cheap cost and that I only wanted to use it for a short while so why pay more? The knurling really impressed me since this one is a passive/medium knurl unlike the others I have mentioned which were passive or in one instance almost non existent in spots. This knurl is consistent on this bar so it is easy to grab hold of and unlike others it has a center knurl making squats much easier to perform. I like the chrome finish (all my others are in basic black) making this bar look sharp. This would make a good starter barbell for anyone either on a budget or just not sure if a home gym is for them and not wanting to buy a pricey bar until they know it will actually be used. Either way if you outgrow this bar (which most people will) it can be repurposed as a landmine bar since its cheap and you wont care when the sleeves get scuffed up. Some important information to know about this bar: It is an olympic bar so it holds 2" weight plates (not standard 1" plates). It is 30mm in diameter which is thicker than normal. Most are 25mm (womens), 28mm, 28.5mm or 29mm for men. The weight is not the norm since it is only 30 lbs instead of 45 lbs It is the proper length so it is rackable. With only a 63k tensile strength I know that it would not be safe to load 500 lbs on it like they claim. I own many barbells and a 110k tensile strength is the actual strength needed to hold up to 500 lbs. So with that in mind I would say 300 lbs is probably the max weight capacity of this bar. Better bars that you will want to keep are 190k tensile strength and can hold at least 1,000 lbs. Never max out a barbell, bench or rack for safety reasons so I would say 250 lbs is probably what is safe to load on this barbell which is one reason it is so cheap and I recommend as a starter bar that can later be just for landmine exercises. Again for the price, the quality of the knurl (with center knurl) and for what I wanted this bar for I do recommend this barbell. If however you are okay spending a little more consider "The Beast" or the "The Boss" both by the same company (CAP Barbell). Both are much better bars capable of heavier weight capacities, bushings, better knurl and a 5 year warranty instead of only 30 days. I have owned "The Beast" since January 2021 and it is still my bench press bar of choice.

"CAP Barbell 2” Olympic 7’ Barbell: A Durable and Affordable Choice for Your Home Gym"
The CAP Barbell 2” Olympic 7’ Barbell is a solid choice for those seeking a reliable and affordable barbell for their home gym. Here are some key aspects to consider: Build Quality The barbell features a solid steel construction, ensuring durability and longevity. It is designed to withstand heavy use, making it suitable for serious weightlifters as well as beginners. The black oxide finish adds a layer of protection against rust and corrosion, which is particularly beneficial if you’re working out in a humid environment. Performance This barbell is designed to fit 2-inch Olympic weight plates, which are the standard in most gyms. It has a weight capacity of up to 1,000 pounds, which is more than adequate for most lifters. The barbell’s knurling provides a secure grip without being too aggressive on the hands, striking a good balance for both powerlifting and general strength training. Spin and Sleeves The sleeves of the CAP Olympic Barbell have bushings, which provide a smooth spin. This is crucial for Olympic lifts where the bar needs to rotate freely in your hands. The sleeves also feature grooves to help keep weight plates secure during lifts, although using additional collars is always recommended for safety. Value One of the standout features of this barbell is its affordability. It offers excellent value for the price, making it an attractive option for those looking to build or expand their home gym without breaking the bank. Despite its lower price point, it does not compromise on quality, ensuring you get a product that performs well. Pros: • Durable construction: Made from solid steel with a protective black oxide finish. • High weight capacity: Can handle up to 1,000 pounds. • Good grip: Knurling is effective but not overly harsh on the hands. • Affordable: Offers great value for the price. Cons: • Bushings instead of bearings: While adequate for most, bushings may not provide the same level of spin as bearings, which could be a consideration for those focusing on Olympic lifts. • Basic finish: The black oxide finish, while protective, may wear over time compared to more premium finishes. Conclusion Overall, the CAP Barbell 2” Olympic 7’ Barbell is an excellent investment for anyone looking to add a versatile and durable barbell to their home gym. It combines quality construction with affordability, making it a standout option in its price range. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced lifter, this barbell is likely to meet your needs and provide reliable performance over time.

Black Olympic weight bar
I waited a few weeks after purchasing to do a review because I wanted to see how this held up and the performance of it. The diameter is just right and the knurling is very nice. It's balanced and even and I noticed a huge difference on my shoulder presses and bench press. The heaviest weught I've put on it so far is 225 for deadlifts. That's not a ton of weight but it handled it just fine. It feels good in your hands. I read that this bar has a small degree of whip, which means it bends temporarily while lifting and then returns to it's original shape afterwards. It's a great bar for the price. I noticed a little bit of the black powder coating is coming off of the ends, from sliding the weights on and off, but not a big deal. Such a big step up from my 2 previous Olympic bars. I'm happy with my purchase.

Heavy-Duty Barbell That Delivers Commercial-Gym Quality
I’ve been lifting with the Black CAP 7-foot Olympic bar for a few months, and it’s a powerhouse. The knurling is grippy without being harsh, giving me excellent control on heavy pulls and presses. The black oxide finish not only looks sharp but also resists rust and wear—still sleek after plenty of sweat and chalk. The sleeves spin smoothly on their bushings, so cleans and snatches feel fluid, yet the bar remains stable under heavy squats and deadlifts. Rated for serious weight, it handles my heaviest lifts with zero flex or rattle. For a home gym, this bar feels like a professional piece of equipment at a great value. If you want a reliable, no-nonsense Olympic bar that will last for years, this Black CAP 7ft barbell is an outstanding choice.

45 lb heavy duty and high quality barbell.
Barbell only, photoed is the entire workbench but the review is fir the barbell. This barbell is very high quality. It weighs about 45 lbs and is great in it's own before adding any weight until my wife is used to this type of workout. Solid design and has the gnarly areas to help keep the bar centered on a stand or bench. Did notice some dings in the metal that were smoothed and painted which is the only reason for deducting 1 star. Price is perfect for this high quality barbell and I highly recommend this one

Possibly the best value / high intensity barbell you can find...
Let's be clear, if you are starting a home gym and haven't lifted in a long while, this bar is a 5/5. Knurling is great. Has a great weight to the bar. Weighing 16kg (35lbs), this bar is amazing. Feels strong and sturdy. The limit capacity states it has a cap around 500lbs. And let's be clear, for new lifters and people who haven't been to the gym in a while, that is well more than enough weight. I haven't tested this capacity yet; nor do I plan to. I've been slapping on a couple 45's and smaller plates totaling around 175lbs and this thing is rock solid. As it should be. Big HOWEVER, if you're a naturally strong person, or someone who has strength trained for a while, maybe watch some reviews for the bar. See how well it will stack up to other brands at whatever level you're lifting at. I don't see this thing giving out around the 500lbs mark. It just seems like it has more range than that based on my experience. So, in a nutshell, it screams value for the price. CAP is a great value brand. (Not cheap, but VALUE) Never dissatisfied with them. This barbell has went great with my MIkolo Power Cage. :) New / Returning Lifters: 5/5 Pro / Experienced: 4.5 / 5 (or better) Just my opinion on the matter. Unless you're a strong man competitor, I'd say this bar will deliver! Hope this review helps! Take care guys!

Choose Wisely The 86inch Bars All have VASTLY different weights
So if you're trying to decide on one of the 86inch chrome barbells this review is for you. The only important difference I can detect among the chrome barbell options is that only one of the chrome bars (classic chrome) correctly weighs 45lbs... the other 2 weigh around 34lbs. I didn't notice this while ordering and it was not until I weighed the bar I received that I realized it only weighed 33lbs. Since the weight was advertised I accept that it was my fault for not noticing it before ordering which is why I am still giving 5 stars. For the 86" barbells the 3 advertised options are Classic chrome 45lbs, Basic chrome 34.55lbs (33lbs when I weighed it) and traditional chrome 35.02 lbs. I cannot see how the Traditional chrome bar differs from Basic chrome other than a negligible difference of 1/2 a lb in the advertised weight of the bars. As I mentioned before, at the time I ordered I didn't even notice the discrepancy in the weight of the 3 bars so I just bought the cheapest one not because I'm cheap but because of a previous experience. This is not my first rodeo purchasing a barbell on amazon. The first CAP barbell I "purchased" was done so inadvertently and it was a huge disappointment because I ordered an expensive hulk fit black bar and the seller shipped an extremely low quality VERY rusty CAP black bar instead. Since I could afford to take the loss I didn't return that bar because I was certain they would just ship it to some other customer and I didn't want to enable the process of the seller trying to rip off anyone else with that terrible rusty black bar. After I got rid of that bar I decided to just cheap out and directly purchase a chrome CAP Barbell to "scratch the training itch" until I could find a more idiot proof way to purchase a black bar. (I did btw it's a company called fringesport and the bar is called fringesport wonder bar- google it). So anyway as I was explaining... during the amazon order process I noticed the options to purchase Basic Chrome or Traditional Chrome and apart from the price and a negligible weight 1/2lb weight difference, I still don't see any difference in the description of both bars. Since I had been ripped off before I assumed that "Basic chrome" really meant "rusty" chrome and "Traditional chrome" meant proper shiny chrome.... SO.... AGAIN.... as I mentioned previously, I had been ripped off before so I decided it wasn't worth risking the purchase of the Traditional Chrome and then getting shipped the Basic "assumed to be rusty" chrome so I decided to throw caution to the wind and order the Basic "maybe rusty" chrome from the outset and save some money. As it turns out the quality of the basic chrome barbell I received is absolutely flawless (almost beautiful) and I can't help but wonder if they shipped me the "traditional chrome" version in error. Either way I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of this bar for the ridiculously low price of only 60 bucks. The way I see it if this is the actual quality of the basic chrome barbell then it's pointless to even see what the "Traditional chrome" version looks like. In my humble opinion your choices are Basic Chrome with the huge savings benefit if you're willing to suffer the consequence of the Basic chrome bar being about 12lbs lighter than it should be or go with option 2 and order the Classic chrome which is advertised to weigh the correct 45lbs (and hope they don't still rip you off and ship the basic chrome one instead lol). If you were my personal friend and you asked me directly which one of these barbells you should really buy, my genuine advice from the heart would be to spend a bit more money and order the Fringesport Wonder Bar. There is nothing on amazon that will even come close to the quality of that bar for its price.

I like the item but my issue is with the delivery company Aramex
I like the item but the delivery company Aramex is the worst. They don’t deliver my packages home. When I say I need the item delivered to my house. They say we don’t deliver. I went to pick it from their office. It took me half an hour to get my package because of the slow process. Only one employee and one old computer that froze and had to wait for it to work. The item didn’t fit into my small car. I had to leave and get another big car.

Commercial quality at a great price.
Was a little uncertain when purchased but the quality upon receiving was great. Its what you would expect at a commercial gym so I was happy.

For the price, it’s hard to beat.
This bar feels exactly like what you’d expect in a proper gym, solid knurling, smooth sleeves, and the right weight. At 7 feet, it fits my rack perfectly, and the standard Olympic sizing means it works with all my plates. I’ve been using it for squats, deadlifts, and presses, and it hasn’t warped or loosened up at all. The finish gives it a clean look, and it’s heavy-duty enough that I don’t worry about loading it up! Now off to lift!

Good entry-level barbell for a home gym
Great economy barbell that's working for my needs. My only concern is that the bearings feel quite cheap and almost grinding, it doesn't really affect the use but it may impact the longevity of the bar (especially in non-climate controlled environment).
