American Airborne Pathfinders in World War II (Schiffer Military History Book)

Quite a comprehensive look at US ww2 Pathfinders
OK! You probably think there have been plenty of books on US airborne. Well, be surprised but no one, until now has written one solely about pathfinders. This book goes through the unique pathfinder equipment; Eureka beacons(both versions),Aldis Lights, Holophane lights, signal panels, SE-11 lights, and the list goes on. A nice section on every photo of every Pathfinder stick for Neptune, or for those that don't know, D-Day, a nice touch! Also there are ample photos along with the history of the pathfinders, starting with the Pathfinders originally created for the Sicily jump, and following on with Salerno, Normandy, Holland, Varsity and Bulge. For those who are keen to learn more about Americas formative years in Airborne development in ww2, I highly recommend this book. All the way! Diablo!

Needs an editor
While this book is highly informative on the missions of the WW2 Pathfinders, it's difficult to read due to the numerous errors. A lack of editing is very evident and it seems to worsen as you progress through the book. This may be due to the many "firsthand accounts" Moran uses. Great photos, but many have been seen in De Trez' and Bando's works.
