Q: can I use these clam shells for baking? How large are they?

Approx. 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 1/2 deep. And I broiled the precooked stuffing in the shells on low for ~3 min.

Q: Are they big enough for stuffies? - stuffed clams?

Just. Here in RI I'm used to surf clam shells. These are avg. 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 1/2 inch deep, so they're ~ appetizer size, or 4-5 for a meal. But boy are they pretty! Pink/beige compared to East Coast gray. Recommended but wash gently!

Q: Can i use markers or paint on this for a permanent art job? i want to create my own (small) set of kai awase (shell painting and matching game).

I imagine a good oil base paint will adhere very well to the clam shells.

Q: Can you cook with them?

They are empty clean shells so my answer is, sort of. The filling was cooked on the stove top, then the filled shells went in the oven near the broiler on low to brown, approx. 3 min.
