A lovely simple and beautifully illustrated book about diversity and inclusion
This book helps children to explore everything that makes us unique as well as learning to understand and celebrate our differences.'No two people on our planet are exactly the same - isn't that amazing? From what we look like, to how we live and the languages we speak, we are all different. Diversity makes the world a really exciting place to be!This is the perfect book for introducing diversity and inclusion to young children. I wish I'd had it when I had been teaching Early Years and KS1. It is written in such a clear and interesting way with simple text and bright illustrations. Each double page could be a circle time or focus for discussion at school. The illustrations and examples of different children's thoughts and feelings are very relatable for young children and will definitely get conversations flowing. The book has gorgeous illustrations that children will love.I would definitely recommend every school library and/or classroom to have a copy of this book. It is also a lovely book to share at home to help children understand it is important to treat everyone with love and respect.

A celebratory book to build understanding
This is a wonderful book by Molly Potter and with lovely illustrations by Sarah Jennings. This is a book to use with children of preschool age or in KS1 exploring diversity in all of us whether it be our likes , dislikes , opinions, personality, nationality, , gender etc. ( Mind you I struggle to define British ). Whether it be using the whole book to explore how we all have a variety of characteristics or whether it be using individual pages to explore specific focuses this is a fantastic book for teachers, parents and carers to open up understanding with young learners about acceptance of the difference and similarities between us all..Ideal for PSHE lessons. The range of imagery in each section is perfect for children to recognise difference can be expressed and represented in many ways. A truly celebratory book which is ideal to use to build tolerance and understanding with young readers.

Factual errors
I so much wanted to love this book - the concept is great, beautifully illustrated, so many sound ideas well explained….But…Gay does not mean ‘same gender’ attracted, it means same sex attracted (I checked in the Oxford online dictionary!).Bisexual does not mean ‘someone who is attracted to more than one gender’, it means someone who is attracted to both sexes.‘Cisgender’ is a label that *some but not all* people use to describe themselves to indicate that their gender identity matches that of their biological sex, not:‘someone who identifies with and takes on the expression of the sex (male or female) they were assigned at birth’ as this implies that all people the author describes here would choose to call themselves ‘cis’. Many do not.No one in this book that claims to vouch for understanding and tolerance of different groups describes themselves as a woman or a girl, the most systematically discriminated against and physically abused group on the planet.Looks like the author’s been drinking the Stonewall kool-aid.Great to include *all* different types of people, however they identify. Not great to define themIn a way that clearly views one side of the gender / sex debate as correct, not as an opinion, defined by the author as ‘ what someone thinks about something. They are not the same as facts.’ So a shame that she has presented one opinion as though it is fact.

A great addition to any school library.
This was a great addition to me and my son's digital library. I love it when the book teaches about things that kids may face in school especially in this day and age. This should be part of all of the schools libraries in the world to help kids teach the lesson that we all may look different but somewhat still the same. We all have feelings and to teach kids to be kind as well to others even if they're a bit different. The illustrations were pretty colourful and adorable too. Me and my son loved every minute of this book.
