Question 1

I want to pump through 80' of 1" pipe with a lift of 10'.  i can locate the battery near the pump.  what might i expect for flow with this setup? thks

first what do you want to fill with the water  . the out of the pump is on one-half if you go bigger than that you will loose  pressure first you maybe will have 3.2 gallon by minute but you wont have any good pressure it depend of what you want to do it can push the water throuhh 80 feets but why a pipe 1inch i dont thinks you will have much water reply me

what is the flow rate at different pressures?  I would be pumping from a 6 foot tank to a cabin system and trying to get 30-50 psi.

This is not a pressure pump. I use to fill tanks from my well and pumps at 7psi at 3 gallons pm. Have been using it now for 4 years and works great.

Can this pump operate in a horizontal position without damage to the pump?

Hundred feet down keeps coming off and on

Several possible causes.  1) If you don't have one or two inline backflow check valves the water could be draining back down into the hole.  2) Battery is not large enough or in good-enough condition to power the pump. Use a voltmeter to look at the battery voltage for excessive fluctuations during the cycling. 3) I would assume you have some kind of control and if so check to see if something is causing the control to cycle excessively.  4) Your solar panel may not be putting out enough energy to maintain battery voltage with a pump which is running frequently because of high demand. 5) Check all wiring and connections - a bad connection, nicked cable or other similar issues could cause these symptoms.  A pressure gauge on the pipe is a good idea to see how the pump is actually doing.
