Perfect condition - appears new.
My computer was hand delivered by Fed Ex. It arrived in perfect condition - look brand new. I'm setting it up and not finding any issues at all. Beautiful job! Thank you

The computer is completely dead at 9 weeks.
Revised review. I bought the computer 5/10, it is now 7/22 and the computer is completely dead. I bought the insurance butI have to go through Asurion through Amazon and it has been one big runaround. I would not buy a computer from Amazon in general and this seller specifically. Revised review. The seller stepped up and did the right thing. He reimbursed me for the new cord. The computer itself looks brand new and works wonderfully. I would still recommend buying a charging cord setup simply because the reviews seem to have charger issues as a common theme. It will save you the frustration when the computer arrives. I got the computer and it was completely dead so I put it on the charger and nothing happened. Rather than just send it back, I decided to take it to the asurian store since there's one very near our home. It turned out that the computer was fine, but that the cord was not it was bent up the little connection. Things inside were all bent and broken thankfully, the charging block work as well. It was just a cord so the seller owes me $32 for the new cord I had to buy. if the seller comes through and does the right thing and pays me back for the cord, I had to buy then I'll come back and readjust this review otherwise buyer beware I'd highly recommend if you bought one of his computers you just go out and buy your own charging cord and block ahead of time and have it ready because according to the majority of these reviews, we all get crappy cords

THIS THING ROCKS!
I love my new MacBook Pro. Coming from a lifelong Windows guy, that’s saying something. I’ve been a Windows tech/support person (retired) for over 25 years. Over that time, I’ve had very little interaction with the Mac OS. I’ve known for years that the Mac OS is a better, more secure and more robust OS, but that didn’t mean I wanted a Mac. Well, that recently changed. I took on a part time job doing support for a Linux NAS server, and an office full of Macs. To support the Mac users, I needed to fully understand the Mac OS. This brings us here. TO THE POINT Do not listen to the negative reviews for these “Renewed” MacBook Pros. My MacBook Pro arrived in perfect condition. Everything checked out like a brand new computer. It did have 50 charges on the battery, so someone did use the computer, and for some time. You could not tell by looking at the unit. I will also add that these computers are supposed to come with a fresh OS install. Mine did have residue from the previous owner, so I’m guessing they don’t always give you a clean install of the OS. That being said, if you get a Mac that doesn’t meet your expectation’s, just send it back. My plan was to give it a try. If after three attempts, I didn’t get a “good” one, I would give up. I didn’t need to do that. I was very happy with the first one I received. You can’t beat the price! To buyers coming from a Windows OS to the Mac OS. When I ordered my new Mac, a friend of mine (who has been a Mac tech longer than most people reading this right now have been alive) told me “don’t bring your Windows mind to the Mac”. This is so true. Don’t start by loading up your new Mac with Microsoft apps etc. Try Apple Pages, or LibreOffice (free download). Give the Mac way a chance. Forget about right click. Yeah, Mac has the Control click to show the context menu, but you will not see the Windows type options for creating a new document etc. Instead, open the app, create your document and then save it. It’s just a different way of doing things, but give it a chance before complaining about the way the Mac OS does it. That’s all. Enjoy your new Mac and have some fun…

Despite initial issues, I recommend this laptop and Seller
I really struggled with deciding between 3 and 4 stars, but ultimately I believe the Seller deserves the extra star. The laptop - which I purchased for my Mom for Christmas - is honestly great. The Seller did a good job of refurbishing it. By itself this would earn 4 stars for both product and Seller. However I did have a significant problem with the power adapter (aka the charger, as others have mentioned, the one sent with the laptop was not OEM and it caused major overheating and shutdown events), and it was a very frustrating experience getting the Seller to replace it.....which they finally did, to their great credit. Another reason that I ultimately decided to give them 4 stars. It would have been FAR less frustrating if they would have just communicated better - they DID send the replacement adapter after I asked, but despite repeated messages from me asking for confirmation and a tracking number, I heard nothing at all for over 10 days. I had to ask Amazon to step in and message them, TWICE. It finally just showed up in my Mom's mailbox yesterday. She says the new power adapter is working fine - no overheating or shutdowns! SO Mom is happy, which makes me happy. I would even buy from this Seller again. The product is high quality and the price is good. They stand behind their products and did the right thing when a problem arose, now that I know they just take forever to communicate, I can deal with future issues by just having more patience.

4.5 I love this Mac…but I have some small concerns
When it arrived, the MacBook was very well packed! This is my third Renewed Mac from Amazon. So I do know that there are going to be some minor defects or issues. That being said….honestly, I was impressed! It’s almost like new…with a small problem. When I went to remove the sticker on the laptop,(it had a sticker for inventory I’m assuming) the whole sticker and back portion of the screen aluminum side started to peel. Now, I did wonder why it felt a bit different than my other macs….and this was why. I really don’t think the seller did this on purpose, rather it was done by the original owner? To be fair, it was well done, almost didn’t notice it, until I started to remove the inventory sticker. Still not a deal breaker. Underneath was one scratch, most likely from normal use. It’s not a big deal, nor does it affect the how it functions. The MacBook is running in the latest OS, which I downloaded with no issue and also installed all my necessary programs with no problems! I do have a program that does bog it down sometimes, but I really feel that it’s how I’m using it not the MacBook. My only concern is the battery. Seems to die rather quickly for a Mac. But again, it’s mainly used at home for my music programs…and it’s very easy to switch out an old battery or memory on these machines (hint hint). The screen is perfect, no blemishes or scratches. And the keys show the tinniest wear, again, not a big deal. It did come with a new charger and cable! Brand new Apple charger! A big win! The last ones I bought came with aftermarket chargers and cables. Like I said, small minimal blemishes that really don’t affect performance and it looks amazing! I also did add a protective cover…Smokey gray! And it looks very elegant! Update! Still working just as well as the day I bought it! Worth every penny!😃😃😃

Got lucky compared to other reviews
I have seen some pretty bad reviews about it not being a properly refurbished and how there was usually that there was a crack in the track pad but I got lucky and I didn’t see anything like that but what I did see was a little dent on the side and some very minor damage. Was is somewhat disappointing and time wasting is that it’s not updated so you have to waste 30-40 minutes updating it . I just want to say something you have to remember that these are refurbished and buying refurbished stuff is somewhat a 50-50 chance that you’re gonna get a really good quality. Yes I may be a few dents they didn’t catch and I can’t really back up the crack in the trackpad because you should be able to see that before sending it but also since he’s a refurbished people send them in and possibly the worst condition ever so at least it didn’t come in the box and thousands of tiny pieces but honestly it’s kind of good it’s just that I didn’t like the fact that I had to take some time to update the computer. Everything is really good. I did a comparison from a refurbished Windows and the refurbished a MacBook and honestly the MacBook ran better. It ran a lot faster and forgetting all the cracks and all that stuff is pretty good, but something I really don’t like especially as a student using it is that the the The capitalization key you have to hit it multiple times for it to actually activate as you can see in the video. Overall it’s pretty good just if you’re using it as like a computer coder you might not ,like sometimes the trackpad will not respond properly, which I am not a big fan of as someone who has you like a little bit of fast clicking I find this kind of ridiculous because you don’t hear it click so it kind of like sets me off so then I end up double clicking or triple clicking it’s just not that good. I know that this is just a design flaw on Apple‘s part but there’s not enough space on the back wall not really enough space but there’s not enough air vents so intense to overheat but overall pretty good!

FIRMWARE ISSUES! Scam. Don’t waste your money.
This $1500 macbook pro worked fine for 15 months, but now it’s useless. Last month I thought my laptop was stolen and so I quickly locked it. Thankfully, I retrieved my laptop bag, but the macbook would not unlock. Where there is normally an option to unlock, that option was not available. I spent hours on the phone with AppleCare and going into the Apple Store. I am a professional photographer, and all of this happened during one of my busiest months of the year. Needless to say that alone was really inconvenient, let alone the cost of travel back-and-forth to the Apple Store. It’s been weeks, and finally the AppleCare team has told me that this company is not an authorized reseller and they cannot unlock my computer because of that. The only option left is for this company to repair the firmware issue. However, when I contacted them, they told me they won’t do it. Again, this is a firmware issue. This is not a run of the mill repair situation. This means that the “refurbishing” is not legit!! This is not a standard repair due to negligence on my part, it is a programming issue by the company who refurbished it. The lack of support from this company after selling me a defective product tells me that they are just scammers. Don’t take a chance on a huge purchase like this. I made that mistake. As a professional who relies on my computer for my livelihood, I can say this was a huge mistake in trusting this company to sell me a properly refurbished laptop. They said the 30 day return window is closed, and to “take it to Apple”. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY!!
