was not sure if it was warm enough whe i first tried it on but put over a tshirt and a minute later had to take it off as i got too hot - great as a mid layer or base good quality well made very happy

HH Lifa Merino Wool Top
I've had my 'helly' for quite a while, and it has been worn and washed many times. I have always had one or other HH top on the go for years now, and they have never let me down once. This HH Herren Lifa Merino midweight long sleeved top is no different. It's my first Merino one, (mainly due to the cost of them), but I do wish that I had taken the plunge sooner. I use this top when I'm out 'rucking' in chilly / cold / freezing / typically autumnal British weather. 'Rucking' (look it up!) If done properly ensures that you will be sweating well before finishing, so a top that is highly rated for 'wicking' is essential. This HH, in my opinion is the 'mutts nuts', is light and comfy to wear. It washes well, and keeps it's shape, but moreover it does what it is intended to do while I'm out and about. Being made of Merino wool, it feels good next to skin, and is naturally anti-bacterial. I expect that this top will serve me well for some time to come. It's HH, and for my money, very little comes close.

I've tried (others) and this is by far the best in this price range. TIP-(check the range of Different content make up in the Lifa range!) this one is Largely Merino wool AND some synthetic. Note this is the best mixture of Merino Wool and synthetic combined. The merino wool content is not only HIGH but correctly woven spun for the BEST performance, the smaller synthetic content also makes it comfortable and durable. I've tried a LOTs of 'base layers' and non of the synthetic ones have come close to the happy temperature this top maintains (not too hot not too cool) Exactly what Merino wool does. Heats up quick and wicks away (any) moisture. Fit was fine for me; snug (it is a BASE layer) and allows free movement. Very well made. WOULD Highly recommend this Helly Hanson top.
