RØDE DeadCat VMPR Windshield for VideoMic Pro Artificial Fur Wind Shield Furry Cover

Not sure what people expect but for outside in light breeze situations it works fine. Fits well on the older Rode Video Pro mic. I can hear me breathing behind the mic when in use but didn't get any rumble noise from a constant 7 to 10 mph wind without using the high pass filter in a wide open space. If you need more wind protection then you should consider a proper gun mic with caged wind shield and isolation. It does fit well but make sure the dead cat goes under the mic as far as you can pull it along the isolation mount. It is tough to do and needs adjusting around the foam for a good fit. I can also get to the on off switch and gain switches without undoing the Velcro. Fiddly but do-able.

Great little piece of kid, helps to keep that crisp audio and reduce wind! amazing for what we need it for :)

Excellent fit for my Rode VideoMic Pro! Well made, easy to fit and performs well. A little pricey though!

This mic Deadcat is far better than the original in looks and performance and beats all other brands out there! Fits super comfortable and not too hard to put on although does take a minute and some patience, also connect's on the back with some velcro. It doesn't block all wind but helps massively none the less and the inside is made out of this really nice fabric with a tiny layer of what feels like foam.

Works just as intended. It a little fiddly to put on initially and even now I am still not sure I have it connected correctly... However it does its job still and that's all that matters. Feels very high quality and has some handy Velcro at the back for securing around your microphone. So even if you do put it on wrong like me it still fits haha. It likes to lose a lot of its hair when you first take it out but once its initially malted it behaves ha.

Not much to say, fits well but I wouldn't necessarily recommend removing it every time you shoot indoors, just leave it on or you'll potentially cause wear to the microphone's foam as it's a fairly tight fit. In addition to wanting a deadcat for outdoor work I partly bought this as it gives a professional look to my camera setup and means I can throw the microphone into my bag without worrying about things crushing or damaging the foam which can happen if stored improperly for prolonged periods. It also gives piece of mind that you won't get any wind noise if you move the microphone quickly or people move around the microphone suddenly which could cause some noise. Definitely recommend you buy one of these when you buy your video mic pro.

The rode deadcat for the vmpro rycote is ok, the one i have fits good and is for the newer model video mic pro not the older style, its helps reduce wind noise to a certain extent but does not stop heavier wind. I would only advise people to use it in light windy conditions, the thing i do not like is that this deadcat sheds loads of hair, i keep it in a plastic zip bag inside of my kit bag as i would not want hairs around my camera and lenses, it sheds loads, i would only give this deadcat 3 stars as it does not stop all wind and also sheds to much hair, but it is definetly useful and can help in some windy conditions. I would rather have it than not have it.

This was to go with our RODE VideoMic Pro, the fit is perfect over the foam and fits nicely around the base of the microphone, it does a very good job of filtering out a lot of the wind noise, but do not expect it to stop strong gusts. Having it on does not change the sound recorded massively, but you will need to adjust the sound whilst editing, but overall a very good product for filming outside.

No cats were harmed in this making, Im pretty sure. It gets the job done, really does a great job on cutting wind in recordings. It fits really snugly and not the easiest to put on and off but that kind of makes sense so it blocks out the wind. It's well made, good stitching and none of the "fur" has been falling out or anything like that. Check out my photos for a closer look and I hope this was helpful.
