Can the Kreg system produce good results with MDF/chipboard.

Hi Trevor,Yes it does, with a couple of considerations.One already mentioned is use of the correct screw thread: Coarse for MDF and chipboard. Also I'd also downsize the length slightly and go easy on the screw driving.This is because the system works on the lag screw principle which uses compression to effect a solid join and as MDF & chipboard are compressible it's easy to over drive the screw through the material. The jig is also marked for metric equivalents of imperial measures: 19mm = 3/4 inch for example, whereas MDF comes in 18mm. So I slightly under drill the pilot hole. Sorry to go on, but I also found the right angle clamps a little too vicious for holding corners in conti board, with breakout on releasing them. It wouldn't put me off though, just take it into consideration. Also, as another reviewer said, glue reinforces the joint if disassembly isn't required. Good luck with your project!

Some people seem to have received MM and some people imperial, are Amazon randomly sending out different versions?

Hi, yes the jig is in MM and the drill insert is in Inches.But it is a great piece of equipment, i made my daughter's wardrobe with them.

I hav read the questions / answers below and some say the kit is marked in inches, some say it marked in MM. Which is correct ?

I bought mine from Amazon UK earlier this month (Oct 2014) and it is marked in mm. Not used it yet, but looks to be very well made and sturdy. No option to choose inches or mm when I ordered and it was supplied by Anazon themselves, not an affiliated marketplace store

Can a left handed person use the jig ??? and work as efficently as a right handed person
