Impressed
Over the past year, because of work, I have had to cancel my gym membership and have not had the opportunity to cycle anywhere near as often as i would have liked. Now, with the onset of winter, I was looking for something I could use indoors to try to maintain some level of fitness. Having bought cheaper fitness machines in the past and in every case being disappointed I ordered this expecting a similar outcome. The equipment arrived within 2 days, was well packaged, and on taking it out of the box I was impressed both with the look and quality of the product which required no assembly apart from screwing in one adjustment knob. This is designed for bikes with quick release mechanisms (QRM) on the rear wheel, which mine had, so it took 30 seconds to take our the existing QRM and replace it with the one that came with the kit, Mounting it on the Turbo Trainer was very simple (be careful not to overtighten) as was adjusting the roller and fixing the resistance adjuster on the handlebars. It took less that 5 minutes from taking it out of the box to having it ready to use,Using it turned out to be a far better experience than I had expected, the roller is a little bit noisy but but worked well and the 6 levels of resistance make a noticeable difference providing relatively easy work out through to a quite challenging workout which can easily be adjusted while you are using it. Using the bike without cleats on the pedals makes it a bit difficult to maintain a smooth pedalllling action but with cleats fitted it works perfectly. Overall I was very impressed with the whole experience from delivery, setting it up and using it and would definitely recommend this piece of equipment.

Great product for the price.
I reviewed a lot of turbo-trainers of a similar price and there was a lot of confusion and difficulty so I was a little nervous, but at £48 I decided to take the risk, and I'm glad I did. It was really simple to set up, it took me literally 2 mins once I had removed the packaging. When it is set up it is surprisingly solid. You do need a quick release wheel and they provide a spindle the right shape to go in the clamps. I tried another bike just to see and non-quick release nuts fit in one side and not in the other for some reason. There is plenty of resistance and it is pretty smooth when you get it set up right, tyres pumped hard and the roller tight against the wheel. It doesn't feel like the road but then it isn't. The noise is not an issue, I have it in the garage adjoining the house and no-one can hear it, it certainly isn't unbearable like some reviewers would have you believe. I have a mountain bike with slick tyres, it might be noisier with knobbly ones. The only slight issues I have is firstly (as some other reviewers have noted) the variable resistance doesn't vary very much - but you can use your gears for that so no problem. Secondly the tyre wear does seem to be quite extreme but I was expecting that and to be fair my tyres are quite old. I can't run at the moment because of a knee injury and this has stopped me going mad. Great product for the price, I would definitely recommend it..

Very good value for money
I owned a Tacx trainer years ago and was a bit wary of buying what looks like a "budget" item. I am not a winter cyclist and normally go to the gym in the darker months but obviously I can't this year, so I bought this but didn't want to spend too much on it.I need not have worried. This is a very sturdy turbo trainer with a bit of "give" to take some of the strain of the bike. Others have referred to how noisy it is but it is no louder than my Tacx trainer used to be. I use it with my mountain bike but have slick tyres; it would be cacaphonic with grippy MTB tyres. The adjustable resistance works well. It doesn't have quite the range that my Tacx trainer used to but it has plenty to play with and you can always use gears to make it even harder. So, overall, a really great product at this price point and I have loved using it. Highly recommended.

Great first turbo trainer
I purchased this for under £40 and for this money I think it's fantastic value. It's solidly built and super easy to fix the bike into once I replaced the QR skewer with the one provided. The handlebar dial attachment made a noticeable difference to the resistance while pedalling, as a middle aged, casual cyclist, setting 7 makes me really work at the pedals. You can't see it in the photos but each of the black 'feet' can be individually turned to 5 different height settings, giving you the ability to remove any wobbles caused by slightly uneven floors and ensuring that your trainer is as steady as can be.The only downside to the trainer at all is that it has very little flywheel to speak of so if you stop pedalling the back wheel will come to a stop within seconds, which can make your pedalling feel a bit jerky at the higher resistance settings. For the price this trainer is definitely worth 5 stars.

Good and solid but not much diference in the settings for resistance all feels the same

This is good.....
Nice piece of kit, arrived extremely quickly, well packaged and dead easy to assemble. Be aware this comes with a new quick release spindle as your bike may have an unsuitable one and you won't know until you've tried to fit it. I suspected mine wouldn't fit the frame so made sure I ordered a kit which includes one as some of them don't and that'll be another £10 to buy and a wait. First impressions of the resistance are that you'll need to have it at it's maximum but after a few minutes you realise that you've probably been overly eager! The remote adjuster is another feature that is really handy if you wan't to do interval training and saves getting off the bike to adjust the resistance. All in all, very happy.NB - the website isn't very clear about acceptable dimensions about which bikes it will take but happy to answer any questions.
