Brilliant Monitor.
Bought this on a flash deal as it was one that I was already considering buying and was happy to pay £15 more than I eventually paid.I love the idea that you can integrate it with a mobile phone app and view the results at any time, IE with your doctor? I was recently diagnosed with Angina and have been monitoring my BP for several months with a BP monitor that I have had for years, but it's seen better days. It was seemingly giving accurate enough results compared to my doctors, but only had a 10 result memory which IMO isn't really enough to keep a long term results record. This monitor has a lot more, plus the added bonus of 2 different user selections. The addition of the integration to an App means that as long as I sync the results up ever time I take my BP, the memory should be infinite within the app. Another function that I particularly wanted was the irregular heartbeat detector. So far, thankfully, it hasn't detected any abnormality but it's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it IMO. The cuff that goes around your arm is semi rigid, which gives a professional appearance and is more like the ones used by healthcare professionals than a chemist "own brand" monitor has (my previous monitor). It fits around your arm and the surplus grips to itself with hook and loop tape (velcro type) and has an indicator to tell you if it is situated correctly on the screen of the monitor. The only thing I find unusual is the fact that it seems that you need to sync every individual result with your app, and that once synced it automatically turns off, meaning that every time you want to test, you need to turn it back on and start again. My old one stayed on after testing with a separate start button. It's a small gripe, and one I'm happy to tolerate because of it's advantages. Overall I'm delighted I bought this monitor. Thanks for reading :)

Buy the USB connected Omron M3 IT instead ?
There are many different OMRON models, but most seem to use the same hardware. The M7 Intelli IT boasts bluetooth connectivity but no USB, while the M3 IT has USB connectivity but no bluetooth :-) Connectivity is useful because it allows you to plot your blood pressure readings with time. But you can just buy the basic M3 Confort cheaply, and record the readings manually. The M7 IT is the latest home model, and bluetooth has advantages over USB cables. Unfortunately the M7 IT bluetooth is flakey, and the phone software, OMRON Connect, is new with many bugs. It is even difficult to pair the device with your phone; I had to get out of the range of any other BT device. Then data synchronisation is tedious. Again, keep away from any other bluetooth devices, make sure the M7 is awake, by briefly hitting the connect or read buttons. Then swipe down on the Omron Connect screen displaying the last reading to initiate data update. Try again if it doesn't work :-) Tap the app screen to see a plot of the data, which you can export to an excel file to email that from your phone. All very clumsy.OMRON have a long history of making home blood pressure devices, and the hardware itself seems good. Upper arm pressure measurements, with the unit at the level of the heart, are probably more accurate than the latest wrist devices. Operation is easy and the readings consistent and credible. It probably eats AA batteries, but it can be used with four re-chargeable 1.2V batteries or with a 6V AC adapter. Yet OMRON seems to be weak when it comes to phone technology. Even the fact that it specifies a nominal 6V instead of the standard 5V indicates that. It took OMRON a long time to add USB to the M3, and then they took it away again with the M7 and replaced it with their flakey bluetooth implementation. When refering to the phone interface they say "pull down" when they mean "swipe down" etc. as if they were new to tactile screens and were still operating in mouse land. Their Android app is currently rated 2.3 out of 5, so I'm hoping they will rewrite it soon. They might take lessons from the excellent Xiaomi Mi Band 2 Android app, which connects and syncs automatically but only measures pulse rate, physical activity and sleep quality.

Amazing product, larger cuff for bigger upper arms, omron app to track your readings for 2 different users
We previously owned an older version of Omron's blood pressure device and were super happy but decided to upgrade as we gave the older / simpler version (no Bluetooth connection and older upper arm cuff design) to my grandma. I have low blood pressure and my partner has high blood pressure and so having this at home is quite crucial for us to get an accurate result. The product itself comes in a nice little zipped up bag to protect it, which I quite liked. The arm cuff has a new design which means you can place it on your upper arm in any way you want and it'll still give you a good reading. The older models had a metal piece to righten the cuff and required for the cable to be at a certain position. This cuff is also much larger than with other models, so great for people with bigger upper arms. Omron has an app that you can download to your phone and connect with this device to track your readings over time. I've been using this device on a daily basis and it works really well and hasn't had any connection issues. It comes with a switch for two users. Quite handy when two people use it. If you forget to transfer the data of your most recent reading, it keeps it saved and you can transfer it at a later time. Also very handy for when you forget to track it or don't have your phone near you. Now, one of my favourite features is that it tells you when your reading is above / below normal range. Lots of people don't actually know what's considered high or low so this makes you aware with an orange light next to your reading. Whilst we're both having enough issues with our blood pressure to be aware of the normal ranges, other people may not be and so this is a great feature.
