Compact Powerhouse – An Essential Companion for Outdoor Adventures
I recently took the FLEXTAILGEAR Portable Air Pump with Camping Lantern on a 40-day camping trip across the USA, and it was an absolute game-changer. First off, I was pleasantly surprised by its size – it's much smaller in person than I expected. This tiny, compact design makes it incredibly easy to pack and carry, a crucial factor for any camping gear. The ease of use is another standout feature. It's intuitive and hassle-free, which is exactly what you need when you're out in the wilderness. Despite its small size, the pump is remarkably powerful. It effortlessly inflated two sleeping pads four times over, which speaks volumes about its efficiency and battery life. This kind of performance is particularly impressive for a device of its size. Durability is another aspect where this pump excels. It's still going strong after extensive use during my trip, which included frequent inflating and deflating of camping gear. The added functionality of a camping lantern makes it a versatile tool, serving multiple purposes and reducing the need for extra equipment. However, a word of advice: it's important to keep the pump charged. There's no clear indicator of how much charge it holds, so it's better to top it up regularly. Fortunately, it does work while plugged in, given you have the right USB adapter, which can be a lifesaver in situations where you need to use it while it's low on battery. In conclusion, the FLEXTAILGEAR Portable Air Pump with Camping Lantern is a must-have for anyone who enjoys camping or outdoor activities. Its compact size, ease of use, and dual functionality as a lantern make it an incredibly useful tool to have in your camping kit. Just remember to keep it charged, and it will be a reliable companion on your outdoor adventures.

One of my FAVORITE backpacking Luxury Items
Do you HAVE to have this little gadget in your backpacking gear? No. But you won't regret the few extra ounces it adds to your pack. I love the duel purposes that it serves. A lantern for my tent and blowing up my airpad for the night. It's so nice after a day of putting miles in not to have to hyperventilate to get your air pad aired up. It's also super helpful to have an extra light to hang in your tent to get situated at night. My headlamp would do the trick, too, but there's just something about this little lantern hung from the top of my tent that gives me an added sense of security and home away from home coziness. LoL. Maybe I'm a little more boujee of a backpacker than some. lol. I have also considered getting vacuum bags for food and clothes which this little thing could definitely come in handy. I have used it on a few trips now. Two nights in 30 degree Celsius weather - charge was still good. A 4 day 3 night trip this spring for the eclipse. Charge lasted for the whole trip. Probably used for a total of 45 minutes. I carry a battery bank that would have been able to recharge if needed. I found this because one of my gear savvy adventure buddies had one and let me use it on a trip we did. I was impressed and had to get one for myself. Highly recommend. I would purchase this as a gift for someone starting out with camping or backpacking. Durable, Portable, Reliable and a great value in my opinion.

Very useful for travelling with vacuum storage bags.
I got some vacuum storage bags for traveling and got kinda bored using the included hand pump. This looked like a fun, multipurpose alternative. It has a number of adapters for various other applications. The one I used for my vacuum storage bags did not fit completely well and screw on the bag valve, but it worked all the same. There is a flashlight built in to it, but it's not something I would be using normally. I'm all for multifunctionality of gadgets (mostly), but this seems a bit silly. Pros: Very powerful little fan that moves a surprising amount of air. It made short work of compressing the clothes in the vacuum storage bags I packed for my trip. You just have to listen for when the fan starts to "struggle" a bit against the valve on the bags. Cons: The button patterns for turning the fan and flashlight on can be annoying to remember; especially if you don't use this on a regular basis. When the fan is on, it is very loud and high-pitched. To me, it sounds like a dentist drill (shudder). My dogs certainly did not like it. Works great and is almost perfect for my needs. If you're sensitive to high-pitched sounds, you might want to look elsewhere...or buy a set of ear plugs. I will try it out on my camping air mattress and update this review accordingly.

Great little air pump for sleeping matts, built in light is a handy feature
Great little pump for airing up sleeping matts at camp. Holds a charge for a long time and works fast. It's a little loud but not really a problem for me. Some might find it annoying. The built in light is a nice option to hang from the top of your tent. All the attachments are great to have but the plastic they use is kind of brittle so you have to be careful not to bend anything or it'll crack.

Powerful palm size, seems reliable.
I pored over the various rechargeable mini pump brands, including the different sizes and power models of Flextail. Wanted something less than 3in x 2in but powerful enough to do the job quickly. I went with the Tiny Pump 2x and it fit my needs perfectly for camping pads and pillows. Tested it on 4 single pads (2 to 5in think) and all pads inflated within a couple minutes. Pillows took 10sec. It’s definitely loud (a whirring whine), about half that of a vacuum. But that’s a small knock given the size, power and flexibility to use on various inflatables with the various adapters. The light is a bonus and has more lumens than I expected. Magnet and the deflator function work as well but I don’t have use cases for those yet. Used it on a 3 night trip inflating 2 pads a night (pillows really don’t take any mAh). Didnt need a recharge; I doubt the handful of minutes used would drain its 1.3ah capacity.

Makes camping easier
Normally, I'm a minimalist in camping, but I hate pumping up my sleeping pad. This unit is so small and light weight it makes setting up my sleep system fast and easy. For me, it's totally worth taking it along. Plus, in a pinch, you can use it to help start camp fires too, vs. leaning in and blowing your self (and getting a face full of smoke!). Overall, this is a great little addition to any hiker's kit. Holds a charge quite a long time. I can get 25 inflations of my sleep pad from a single charge. So between my son and I, we only need the one for any trips.

It does its job, and it pumps well!
It does its job, and it pumps well! All I can say is that it pumps well. I don't have any other rechargeable air pump to compare it to. It's not fast; but it will effectively fill-up a full-size self-inflating 4" foam mattress (72" x52"x4") in about 6-7"mins (medium firmness). I also filled up several Thermarest solo sleeping pads, which took <2'mins to fill. Before filling my sleeping pads/mattresses, I had the pump fully-charged, so at this time I don't know how many I appreciate its small, lightweight, and orange color to enhance its visibility. The built-in lantern is a nice feature, especially if you need to pump again at night; but it offers multiple levels of brightness that will offer backup or emergency lighting at night inside the tent. There's multiple valve adaptors, so this pump should fit around any mattress air valve.

Great little portable pump.
Love this little pump. I always take it with me for camping. I use it to inflate my sleeping pad and the light on it works well for a tent light. It would be nice if it had different buttons for the pump and the light so you don't accidently activate the pump in the middle of the night and wake up others. It would also be nice if it had a red light setting. Overall, it's awesome and I am happy with the purchase.
