Foil side up is how its intended to be used to reflect your body heat back. But in practice it wont make much difference. Liam

how much does it weight? and please dont say lightweight. I need a number!

I've been using mine for awhile but it is dry and clean and weighs 219 grams according to 2 different sets of my scales. Not sure why other's are claiming different weights.

Is it a single mattress??

Yes it's a single. It's OK if you aren't too big. I'd recommend two for extra padding. They do keep the cold at bay OK during the summer, but it's not a four season mat.
