Suprisely good and affordable, great piece of hardware
Behringer Di DI100 DiBoxe is really good, love the box. box is sturdy and ruggested, rubber corners does help it not move around. Used it for church, well impressed for it. Has multiple inuts and outputs, XLR & Jack input, Link output and xlr Output. Require 9v Battery, easy to install. Blinking LED to indicate it is on. reduced groundloops and produces great sound outputs.. I ended up getting another one. i run a Small AV business and im so pleased i will be buying severl more in near future. Will Buy another 4 More soon for Band setup

A rugged solution to connecting almost anything to your mixing desk
DI boxes (I think it stands for Direct Inject, but I've also heard them called Direct Input) allow an unbalanced signal or any impedence that may be coming from an instrument, a microphone or another audio source, to be converted to a balanced microphone-level signal suitable for your mixing desk. This Behringer DI Box is fairly large (perhaps 6 inches square and three inches deep) in a rugged steelcase with outsized rubber bumpers. Its design gives you confidence that it will just work, and indeed it does, taking its power from the mixing desk (you can add a PP9 9 Volt battery if you wish, but it shouldn't be needed). The inputs are quarter inch jack or XLR (note that these are unbalanced, so only one signal pin is connected - if you have a balanced audio source, like most microphones, you don't need a DI Box). There's a pass through quarter inch jack, so you can also plug into a monitor amp or something similar. There are also two attenuator buttons, that drop the signal level by -20 dB or -40dB. On the back there's the balanced XLR output and a "ground lift" button, which can eliminate buzz and hum if you have two grounding points in circuit. There's also the door to the battery compartment, a red LED to show you the device is receiving phantom power from the mixing desk, and another unlabelled button that the instruction leaflet claims to be a speaker cabinet simulator. It is nothing of the sort - the leaflet is wrong. It's the on-off power button for the internal battery. I haven't tried using that one. If you want cabinet effects, try the Behringer Ultra-G instead. The idea is that you have the DI Box (or boxes - I use two) on stage or in the performance area, and the balanced XLR cable back to the mixing desk can be as long as you like, within reason, as having a positive and negative signal means that any induced interference cancels out, giving a nice clean signal at the desk. The boxes stack nicely - they don't clip together, but they rest on top of each other quite comfortably. The Behringer DI Boxes (this one and the Ultra-G) are way more stylish than most of the alternatives. Behringer also does a 2-channel stereo box, the DI20, but I like the look and feel of this one so much more, and I want the flexibility to place them separately, so I prefer to have two DI 100s. I'd hesitate to use this DI Bix if you don't have phantom power - what if the battery runs out mid-performance? Other than that, they're a great choice.

Very good
Bomb proof construction! Great that it can run off phantom power and has ground lift feature. Works well. Can't fault it.

Shiny and space age box, cheap and cheerful, does the job
I got this to plug an electro-acoustic into the PA, and for recording it. It is in a robust case, and looks very shiny. It provides a nice clear signal with a healthy wack of signal level, but there is a tiny bit of a popping noise from the power led, which flashes constantly when it's on battery power. This is only audible when using higher gain after the box, so it may never be an issue. Certainly it's fine live, but for the best quality pro recordings I'd get something less cheap and cheerful...probably so obvious that it goes without saying. However, if you want to do home recording on a budget, and convenience for you outweighs gear snobbery, this could be just the ticket. The battery compartment is a tight squeeze (as I believe others have noted). I think they've assumed it will usually be run off phantom power. The only other thing - the ground lift button on mine appears to do absolutely nothing. For what I need it for, this doesn't matter, and it may just be my unit. However, you may want to watch out for that if you need to isolate your signal grounds.

Great product from a well known brand
This is a great DI box very sturdy and works with phantom power so no need for a battery.

Make a Difference
I never felt the need for a DI Box before, but persuaded by fellow musicians, I felt I should purchase one for the hell of it, so here I am a newly discovered convert. So what did I learn? Well my Fender Stratocaster is much brighter and I mean the strings come to life with much more expression. The Guitar needs much less volume with a stronger signal to the amp. So, why didn't I discover this a long time ago? A great value for money and inexpensive addition to any Guitarist or Bass player. Fender is normally quiet at lower volume and this little DI Box brings it to life from a dwarf to a Giant! So watch out fellow pickers, when my Guitar comes to town it will compete with the best of you. Just remember to include a 9v Battery for normal power and to save confusion it's Jack In to DI Box and XLR Out to Amp.

Great piece of kit
Great bit of kit that works for me. I use it to input an electric violin into my studio monitors and it works great for this.
